Low FPS Workaround

Hi! If you're like me and have been finding your FPS really low since the big patch, the following did the trick for me. Hopefully it will work for you too!

1. Restart Steam in Offline Mode (Steam>Go Offline)
2. Launch Starbound then click the 'Launch Starbound' button in the launcher.
3. As soon as you click 'Launch Starbound,' close the launcher

This gave me both a good FPS and also the lower load time the patch is boasting. Happy exploring!!

 

Why not just use the starbound.exe or the starbound_opengl.exe files? Those are probably better way to go, as then you wouldn't even need to log into steam...

of course that is the windows way, as I don't really know how to do it with the other 2 operating systems.

 

where do you find the starbound.exe file?

 

win32 directory in the starbound directory.

you should I hope know where the steam directory is... else:
program file (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\starbound\win32

That's for windows, but there are other directories for the other operating systems; however like I said I am not familiar with those.

Seems most don't since most games are not made that way on steam unfortunately. glad I could help.
