I did all first quests and got some upgrades and tech cards... did I lost all cause I died and they despawned? is the hardcore mode only?
Hi, so maybe its just a case that the itens droped where you died and you have to get back there again. If you can still select your char then it means its likely the itens will be where you died before.
Death in starbound: On casual you don't lose items, on survival you lose a lot of items but not all, on hardcore your character gets deleted.
