I believe he is talking about the ones from the Warhammer 40k series. Both are plants/plantlike (though I'm not sure what the ones from Warhammer actually are) both like stabbing things/battles, both seem (at least with how they speak/weapons and armor) like they are more tribal/seem stupider than they actually are. Granted isn't it one type of Ork that is of the smarter variety, while the rest are generally stupider to a degree? Seems like Florans could be smarter Orks in a sense, except I doubt they can multiply as quickly.

Florans are tribal level tech and are able to learn to use advanced tech like starships it makes me think they are extremely intelligent. Given the way they talk about Florans getting tech and spreading quickly to other worlds it would seem to suggest they breed faster then any other race. Orcs don't try to be hospitable, Floran do.

I'd say they likely are more mellow than Orks (in the sense that they are like hey meaty biped, you don't stab me, and I don't stab you), but they still likely have the easily made hostile factor that the Orks have. Granted so does pretty much everything else in that universe.

On topic, Florans are one of the races that fit with the general lore/tier system that the storylines are centered around. Granted, that is right now when we can't really tell how they will use the storylines and tiers (large amount of lore integrated storylines, or just menial ones).
