I some how doubt that much would ever come.
But would more likely come from a 3rd party.

I never found any bugs online? I have my own multiplayer server and never encountered any bugs.

Not abandoned but... Personally I'm not fond of the direction the game is headed. They are adding a bunch of new stuff in sure, but they broke systems that made the game fun to me, and made the game ridiculously frustrating with ore drops on death and such. I have to agree that you should really wait for the game to be fully released. I regret ever supporting it currently.

Oh, then it must be my end. Forget anything I said. But I do think they might've been working on the water system of something. I can't remember.

Only 1 thing to add in my opinion:

Steams layout always makes me sit in front of my pc with an open mouth and max opened eyes, wondering why da frack i can't open games or anything in another taskbar or window.
Especially when the go back option fracks up sometimes xD

Heyhey and i like Steam and Idea behind it and use it just the same!

    Sry for the offtopic...
    Starbound ofc not abandoned^^

My honest opinion is just to wait. Wait till after the holidays around mid January or February and check back to see if it's been updated.

Just wait a bit more. Currently Starbound seldomly feels like a big sci-fi game. That might change, but i don't know...

I'd wait for a DRM free version (lolz) so you can have at least a snowballs chance in hell of getting a refund.

Seriously, it's a work in progress/EA game that specifically does not want community feedback...which is essentially the point of buying an EA title. The game is being redacted and rewritten, the signpost of a rookie dev biting off more than it can chew.

Go to steam, read the reviews, read the forums. This place is a bubble that still pretends "constructive criticism" has any point.
I preordered a game that was to be done nearly a year ago. It is an absurdist joke to me at this point.

Main lesson: NEVER, EVER ASK "SHOULD I BUY THIS GAME" on the "official" forums for that game. You will be bs'd by a few die-hard fans, or if you are lucky, an actual dev. Though the latter will probably just insult your intelligence.

Yes, indeed. It's fun there, and we all want the same thing outta this game.

Really a bit harsh (understandable maybe)

    but;
Where better to go (too) than to check out the Forum from the Game itself?
I don't mean steam is bad, but to post a question like that here is very understandable...
The Steam update for infos and news is sure much slower than this site here.
And one does not need to be a hardcore fan to recognize a good base for a Sandboxbuilder, especially when familiar with all counterparts like Minecraft or Terraria.
As so many have so often said the Nighlies give you a chance to see and experience the daily progress of the Devs.
If you search this Forum you can find many people who quote:"definitely got their moneys worth" and very many who "Can't wait and want to know when the next stable comes out and and and^^" (Me too btw:D)
Haven't seen anyone who wanted money back and few who disliked it.
But i like to remember that at first we got some small updates and even if they weren't on time as they were promised, almost everyone complained that those small updates are not worth it.
So it felt to me that the active part of the Comunity voted\chose "we" all want bigger updates and are willing to wait.
Given it has been some time now and everyone is getting weary if you for example take a look at the moddingsection you'll see that this game and its comunity (where ever) is alive^^

Not appologizing for anything or anyone, just stating facts and my view .D

@Albussystems I can understand going to an official website to get a general idea of a game, but I would never use that as a place to find out if it is worth buying, especially when the game is only available on the steam platform which (generally) has less moderated forums and reviews (sloppier but honest).

People have tried to get their money back, but since it is only available through steam it's a zero sum game. Steam does not offer refunds unless there is a likelihood of a lawsuit/PR nightmare that would outweigh the losses they would suffer from giving dissatisfied customers a way out. There are PLENTY of people who would take their money back and walk away, I am one of them.

You are listing a lot of repeated arguments. Again, this is an official website, not the place to look for a critical eye but a great place if you already love the game. Blaming the community for the sloppy development is just silly, I'm sorry...especially since all I have ever heard is "we don't want feedback".

I have never bought an EA game in my life and I think it is bogus that I've been forced to own one.You will find a plethora of others with the same view on steam...or in some older locked threads in this forum.

I respect your opinion, everyone is allowed one, but I'm not buying any of those arguments anymore.

@Lazogna, yeah i'm easy and you got a point too! I am actually pretty new here, tried to get a overwiew here first before i started posting and now i just try to ...help is the wrong word, but i hope you know what i mean^^

Especially the EA genre is going through a hard time, SB isn't the only one taking its time there :D
I am sorry for those who where unsatisfied!
I'm happy you'r not just venting as it felt at first to be honest^^

Lets wait and see what happens... i know what you need man.... read the next word backwards

    epoh .D cheers

Just glancing and would like to chime in- if you like the idea of crafting an building things, then there is a +1. You like space, and there is some fine space exploration here, there's another +1. If you like the idea of Metroidvania platforming/dungeons built into the worlds you travel to, +2 here. Have a good imagination and can set your own goals for yourself, without needing an official end-game (atm)? +1. The most important part is being honest with yourself if you find crafting/building enjoyable, ad mixed with the exploration can hold your attention long enough while the game is still in development. Suffer no delusions of an endgame going in, and just enjoying what's there, and the price (I feel) is well worth the admission. Check out U-toob videos to get a physical idea of gameplay.

    ALSO:
I've learned one thing about the Steam side of SB... tread lightly. There is a group of people whose avatars you can see in almost every discussion posted there. Furthermore, they are on each others friends lists, and they "subtly" hijack threads. I, personally, have found it best to just stick here on the official forums- biased or not, there's more varied opinions, and not all of them are negative! ;D

Welcome, and if we don't see ya now, hopefully we'll see ya later!

I want\need to say it one last time to be sure..... The one who looks at "1" Page on the present day Internet, is lost. No page whatsoever is free of those flamers who need to vent their feelings. Feelings = non objectiv = not helpfull...

Best thing we can do is stay objective and try to post facts. New ppl, or worse ppl with little patience won't read through 100 pages on "any" forum, see the first few videos and pix, and if they say its bad, it must be so.

You all know how it works, same on Facebook and everywhere, most ppl writing and posting don't even think about it, and those who do you recognize quickly if you "read"

I took a good look around Steam and some gameratings made me wonder too. Origin.... lets not even talk about that^^

@Starbug i think that advice should be standart in all the Net!^^

Can we leave it at that? .D

I kind of agree. I mean, there is, or at least last time I played, absolutely no incentive to actually do anything on the planet but mine down, get ore, then go back to your ship. No incentive to build, create or do anything other than "gather resources."

At least Terraria had an incentive to build a house, residence, castle, whatever.

    I regret supporting this game.

Take a glimpse at the incentive every Builder has...

    http://www.directupload.net/file/d/3803/w4ylpjes_jpg.htm

creativity or better the wish to create!

If your not into that, the advice to wait is half right. You can play the stable until you unlock 4 new sectors and optain and find many new items, weapons and stuff.
Even if the Game willbe\is different in the next version, doing what i just said "can" be fun^^

yeah you can create large sweeping buildings and villages, but thats if you want to. When I say there is no incentive, there is no gameplay incentive to do so. I can do that in terraria, so what is the reason to jump to starbound?

The game is the new Duke Nukem Forever. Wait till its released, read the lukewarm reviews, and then decide if you want to try it or not.
