Funny thing is that I happen to be looking for a good friend to play SB with too,
I'd certainly love to meet some new people so count me in.

Guys, im looking for people too, recently joined this clan "The Tunuva Project" hoping it will help me out there.

Most of my friends doesnt like this type of artistic creativity adventureous type of gameplay (i love it thou).

Im 24 male, playing alot of games tbh, but also going to the gym and spending time with my GF and the dog.

Only one problem here as i can tell, i live in Sweden our timezones differs alot. Im GMT+1.. Its 1pm here right now, lunchbreak over.

Hopefully someone in the same boat as me here, otherwise i'd gladly play in the morning even if i might be a little bit tired ^^

You guys should check out the 18+ server thats in the works by a few members of the forums. It'll have a bunch of people but its up to you if you want to play more solo or grouped up. What it does is fill the world with other people to bring it to life. Make a comment on the thread. It should be on the first page but if not then just search 18+

If you are still looking for a group 2 other friends of mine and me all have Starbound. We wouldn't mind one more person. (Least I wouldn't )

 

What if I join a server that I end up not liking or I don't fit in, and decide I want to try another server or just play single player? I'd have to start a whole new character and lose my progress, wouldn't I?

 

I have a friend who will be hosting for a small group of 4-5 people max, we both live stateside and he's on est. If you're looking for a small group we might be able to add you in if you don't find a group by release. Shoot me a pm if you're interested.

Characters are saved locally like terraria. Anything on the chatacter or in the inventory is saved and can be moved to any server at any time.

 

Server owners have the option to have characters stored within the Server, like Minecraft. It can be assumed that nearly every server is going to be using this feature to prevent cheating.

 

Most servers will be making your saves server-side, thus yes you will have to start anew if you want to play elsewhere. I'd recommend doing some research into the server you're going to play on to see if it's really what you want. Besides, the beta is a good time to get a feel for a server's community, what with the frequent character wipes (or rather characters becoming corrupted and unusable with newer updated versions of the client).

I literally just asked Molly about server-side characters and she said they are saved locally...

 

They just wanted to correct me even if their info is made up. Lol.
