    Hello everyone,

Thank you for coming to this thread. I have a few questions that I would like to ask the Star-bound community!

As far as it's Longevity, where do you see Starbound within a few months/years?

This game, as many of you may already know, was always compared to Terraria. But I came to this game because I always felt as though it was BETTER than Terraria, and I still feel that way. But at this point in the game and development, I always wondered if Starbound would have as much content as Terraria does. Even though I don't like to compare the two games WHATSOEVER it kind of has to be done as far as content goes.

(I know the game is still in it's early beta-phases please don't bash me)

So tell me what you think in the comments below.. I look forward to reading them!!

But WAIT:lickitung: Before you go.. I don't know about you guys but I haven't been playing much of the game due to the content at a stand still. What about you?

CF has already announced the development plan http://playstarbound.com/the-future-of-starbound/
The real question is implementation of those features.

There are a thousand ways to implement an idea. Its a waiting game to see what path they take for each feature.

I'll likely see Starbound on my computer screen in a few months/ years.

Joking aside, I would not trouble myself and speak for a fluctuating variable that is the popularity of Starbound amongst the gaming community (since I play alone most of the time), instead, I am assured that Starbound would not stagnate too soon as the developers mentioned updates and add-ons for at least a year after the actual release. Not to mention, if I overcome my imperialist view on mods, I see my experience being renewed, even in small aspects every now and then.

I'm still playing the game somewhat relatively, even now as the content does not flow as much.

Right. See after the LAST big reset stating that there will be no more.. I kind of straggled away from the game because it's like well.. I hit T10 already like 3 times before.. and the storyline/fighting the bosses have no real emphasis.. So it just became a :rolleyes:meh:rolleyes: after that. Haven't really played since..

On top of that I'm a HUGE multiplayer guy and playing Starbound alone is just even more boring but when I join a server.. Everyone is just flying around with modded weps and gear and it just turns me off so much.

I see it more than likely... with significant less attention towards it than now by the community.
If we're lucky, (if they can truly bring enough significant and meaningful content in the near future), then the attention will raise a little.

Even though it's in Beta, I'm bored of it. Even though Terraria has gotten updates, I can't see myself going back to play it because I've played through it so many times already.
I have gone off to play other games now.

My Exact point! You literally hit the nail on the head with this one.

Terraria's only modeling point for this game is it's content.. it has soooo much stuff and Starbound is such a superior game when it comes to animations/graphics etc.

The only possible way for me to play this again is if I'm with a huge group of friends. Or they roll out some huge update that adds a crap load of stuff.

Starbound isn't going anywhere, because if it dies before v1.0 there is going to be a lot of pissed off people...

    My predictions:

    - 'beta' Stage 2: 12 / 2014 or 01 / 2015
    - 'beta' Stage 3: 06 / 2015
    - Release v1.0: 01 / 2016

Time just keeps slipping on... but I would love to be wrong on this...

I install mods. Create new characters. Do stuff.

I think once servers get the ability to push mods to clients and the progression is made flat we're going to see a boom in interest. Those two things will drive multiplayer up the wall, which is what a game like this needs to retain mass interest. You'll both be improving the game's replayability through virtually limitless expansion, and eliminating the two large factors that stand in the way of people freely playing with each other.

Systematically eliminating the things that cause issues in group play greatly improves the health of multiplayer games. Get people to play with their friends, and their friends will keep them playing.

Right now i am on a hold with starbound. Havent played it in a few month. I am just waiting for the next huge patch that adds progression and more content overall.
I enjoyed playing the game so far, but because of the lack of content the x-sector is pretty boring and i am not in the mood to sink too much time into building on or exploring different planets. I will keep those experiences for a playthrough in the future with more content to play with.
Meanwhile i tried a few mods and i am pretty sure that i will use them in my future playsessions aswell, because they add a great experience to the game aswell!

As for your question, i think that there is the possibility for starbound to satisfy my gaming needs for a looong time (given that mods will add to the replayability). I just cant wait for it to reach the V1.0 mark :whoop:

This right here.. man you guys are just saying exactly what I'm thinking but wording it so much better.

I'm in the same exact boat with putting Starbound on "Hold" until they release a massive content update to go and explore and do things.. I have hope for this game I really do, but as of right now.. there's nothing to really do..

I haven't really hit the "Modded" part of Starbound like most of you may already have.. But I'm more of a vanilla type of person. I don't think that mods should make this game.. only add to it.. Now.. You may disagree with me but I was actually kind of upset that they rushed the support for client side mods but not server-side.. meaning people with invisible gear, one shot weapons, and super teleport, fishaxe lagging the servers, etc etc. They were just RUINING the experience for me.. It's just annoying.

And How does creating a new character really do much for you if the content is the same through the races as of now?

New armor. New weapons. New ships. New experiences with villagers.
