Hi!! I recently got an awesome idea from another user on the forum who I haven't been able to contact for quite a while now. The original idea was to have a separate set of sprites/portraits that changed the clothes of NPCs when it rained (wearing raincoats for example). I have the majority of this mod completed code side. I would just need an artist! We could continue off the idea of changing NPC's clothes to rain-wear during rainy days or something more intensive like different clothing for seasons. Maybe a set of swimsuits for NPCs to wear on the beach during summer. I'm willing to work with any idea! If anyone is interested in doing some artwork let me know!
Paneto has done some excellent artwork for a first test run on Emily. When she is indoors she has her hat off: When she is outdoors she has her hat on: There are quite a few NPCs, so anyone still interested in doing some artwork is welcome! Ideas are also welcome! Note*: This outfit is just a current test. Triggers for this outfit and for future created outfits are still to be determined.
Currently I'm working with Paneto to rework some art for Emily. Let me know what you're interested doing. My current ideas for clothing triggers are: -2 sets of clothing for colder and warmer seasons (1 for spring/summer (original clothes), 1 for fall/winter (new custom set). -Clothing for all 4 seasons (quite a bit more work but doable over time. -Clothing for when its raining or snowing -Clothing for when npc is outside vs inside Many more ideas. I hope to receive some feedback on what people would most like to see.
For characters like Sebastian (whose lack of winter clothing factors hugely into his character as he claims he's never cold), I was thinking I could make a summer outfit instead of a winter one. Would that make sense? The raining ones would still be the same.
Just wanted to update. I'm still looking for artists interested in making alternative clothing sets of npcs!

would things like swimsuits at the beach be possible? I find it strange characters like Sam, Alex, Haley and Vincent all go to the beach during the summer wearing jackets and the like.
Yup! If you make swimsuits, I'll make sure that NPCs wear them while at the beach during summer! Keep in mind that portraits are not required, but still vital to achieving the full effect for clothing changes!
At least for someone like Alex he already has a shirtless portrait so for him he'd just need the sprite change, although if you add any accessories above his chest then maybe you'd need to edit it some. I think he would simply just wear some swim shorts though.
Nope... not currently, I haven't looked into changing clothing for the character. The issue is that there is a lot of customization for the player which would have to be taken into account when adding any kind clothing changes.
You could probably just edit some shirts for different seasons and then get changed based on the weather. Idk about umbrellas or whatever though
Yes, It is certainly do-able; but not my current focus at this moment. I figured with "Get Dressed" being so popular, people already have a nice way to change their clothing.
