Outdated Logistics Frigate 1.3 (Furious Koala)

Got some work done on the corvette and an upcoming overlay for the frigate. Also, managed to get some more furniture into the game and working properly.

Each of the rooms under the bridge are is about the total buildable area of the starter ship, putting this one at around 5x the size.

Also an escort at about 50% of the starter ship size, which can also double as a placeable item for landing pads etc.

 

New designs are looking pretty good! Looking forward to seeing the new objects/furniture in-game as well.

Still think the Logistics Frigate itself could do with a door straight from the Captain's Quarters to the Bridge to avoid having to take the long way around. Post might've been buried under other comments.

 

Cant wait, that new design is sweet, and the place-able drop ship.. hell yeah man, that would be so sweet for making a base on your home planet. Just to put another thing on your to-do list. toss in a weapon that looks like this to match the ships

 

Hey so Beef, got a bit of something for you. I loved the black unit but felt it could use a slight alteration. All white features are orange and the console is orange to boot. That wonderful red tint in the bridge is the recolored console. Let me know if you want the original files. I'm very excited for your new work. Just me being a goof off in the meantime. I have them prepped and can file drop them for you if you want

 

That custom Master System Display is pretty neat. I personally liked the lines, I just thought it would look better with a Tron styled orange. Which you may or may not have noticed in your reversion, still exists on the forward antennae.

Kind feels a little like I should have brought an umbrella though.

 

Hey, so I noted that most, if not all, of the up-down access points are 5 tiles across.... this seriously messes with me, because allt he windows (of which a couple are over these access points) are two tiles across. Could you maybe possibly edit it so that the access points are 4 tiles across, to better fit into the idea of symmetry, because it's really important in my attempts at working with the ship to make it into a Pirate Heavy Cruiser (thank you so much for the Pirate decal!) that it looks... 'off' when I try to make everything look right.

You guys should post a download link to your changes, I wouldn't mind using your pure black with red my self. So want an update

Lol I don't take credit for it either way. let me see what I can do about getting a link up. The dropship file is already edited to TronBl and TronBr so all you need to do is change the treasurepools setting to (your race)StarterTreasure and back up your /assets/ships file before doing the next step of overwriting your chosen race's dropship file. Most of this is all in the read-me but I remind myself regularly. With that done you should have yourself a snazzy orange on black version. even the bridge screen lettering is orange.

When you click on the link, it will have a downward shevron, click on that and then at the bottom right side of the screen it has a blue Open button and the download button is black, it confused me at first when It wasn't straight forward. Sparing anyone else the pain.

No credit taken: Literally just left Beeftime's name on the mod. This is a tweak not a proper modification of his work. The orange is off of his own assets thereby I really didn't do much.

Sorry I've been MIA for the past couple days. Work has been absolutely insane - moved to a new building, changed departments, and started two new projects all in two weeks
It will probably stay busy for a little while, so I haven't been doing much besides boring furniture coding.
Anyway, the mod...mods you guys posted are all totally bangin and if you want I can include them (credited, of course) in a future release.

I probably won't make this change myself, but it's pretty easy to mod yourself if you want. All you need is gimp or paint.net and you're pretty much done. Carve out a door and change the corresponding blocks in the blocks.png file (remember, it's a 1:8 scale)

As it is now, no, not a chance. I'd have to clean up or redo a lot of the background stuff and it'll be really messy and time consuming. I might change the window sizes - but - if this is something you're serious about I recommend altering my files yourself. Really, it's easier than you might expect and if you don't care about background alignment, it'll easy and quick.

 

I realize you've already stated that you don't mind your assets being used elsewhere, but I wanted to let you know that I borrowed your pixel art/code for the Frigate to build my own ship, for my own personal use. Your work is stellar, pardon the pun! I can't wait to see what other ships you've got up your sleeve.

Aww, alright. Well, thank you for the reply, I was mostly having issues because my in-game fixes look ugly, as literally NO BLOCKS EVER look like the very nice, sleek ship you've made. I'm making do, but I figured I'd ask. No harm in asking, right?

I like this ship mod a lot I was using it in Angry Koala. Now that the new patch has been released the mod no longer works even after changing the version string in the modinfo file. I hope an update is released soon because I really can't stand playing without the ship.

 

Hopefully I won't be stepping on too many toes by doing this: I made a really quick hotfix for the mod.

Install instructions are as follows:
Extract the zip into /Starbound/Mods.
so that it'll look like
/Starbound/Mods/LogisticsFrigate/

Then go into
/Starbound/Mods/LogisticsFrigate/ships/
and rename the apex folder into the race's name that you want to play as.
And bamf! Now you should be able to use beeftime's awesome ship.
