Bug/Issue Locked out of Floran hunting mission

I attempted to go to the Floran hunting mission after spending quite some time trying to find enough Floran things to continue the story. I was on the teleportation screen for over a minute, and then warped back to my ship. Now universe.lock shows up in my universe folder.

I uh...kind of need to actually beat this mission to continue the story? Is there any way around this? Anything I can do to make it load, or skip it entirely?

I'm having a similar issue as well, but with the hylotl library mission instead.

I did have an issue with the Floran mission's final teleporter not beaming me out properly so I just beamed out manually. The mission registered completed, but it doesn't hurt to have this out there.
    OS: Win 7
No mods installed the first few times I tried to do the mission.

This is supposedly a memory issue. You can sometimes reach it successfully by going to the mission right away upon starting the game. If it doesn't work, quit and restart. It's not a perfect solution, obviously. I think the same thing goes for the next, but so far no luck.

I think I did shut the game down in order to make this topic, and then a few minutes later I booted it up again. The mission failed to load the first time after starting up, but I tried again anyway and managed to get it to load. Thanks for the reply. That's useful to know in case it happens again.

Yeah, I have Windows 7 as well. 32-bit, but with the highest amount of ram and stuff as it can possibly have for 32-bit.

I think it's more like a world generation timeout (which can indeed be related to a memory issue). So if it takes too long you get sent back to your ship. Tbh i never encountered this error so i think it can also be a bit related to your specs.

Yeah, I've noticed that. I've had that happen with planets occasionally, but when it happens to planets, the planets or star systems related to them just completely disappear, and I'm warped to a random location in the universe. (And "universe.lock" shows up in my universe folder.) Very frustrating. While I appreciate the timeout thing sending me back to my ship, and preventing me from getting stuck in a loading sequence, I don't like being locked out of things. :\

The universe.lock file has nothing to do with this ^^ This file locks the universe for other starbound instances. E.g. running a local server this prevent starting singleplayer in the same universe because it would mess up things. When those planets completly disappear the starbound.log would be very interesting.

Really? Cuz the only time I've ever noticed that file appearing was when I had errors like this. (or when I tried to reset a world by deleting its file.)

I always have this file in my folder when starbound is running and never encountered such an error (even with mods).
