Take a look at this screenshot I took, I mean I almost missed these chests which are almost impossible to see already, had I not decided to jump up to collect some pixels on those platforms next to me. And it makes me wonder what other little things I would have missed. Because I know for certain that I have been in two of these matter generator labs before and this is the first time I've noticed these chests. What things have you guys found that has been hidden away really well in this game?

Wow, that is awesome that they thought to hide stuff like that! Quite old school, reminds me of the missile containers hidden under lava in the Metroid games.
Been past a bunch of these, but haven't seen any chests inside of them. And I always bomb through them to watch the lava dribble out too.
Chests can spawn in liquid, but it doesn't check what kind of liquid I don't think, so they can be in lava, tar, etc. Same goes for Pixel Pods and even other items. I've found beds (Hay stacks) in liquids that were fully functional, and you can even place torches in tar without them being put out. I'm going to say these things are all completely unintentional.
