Ununpentium? While it's not defined as of yet, it has been produced in laboratories for a few nanoseconds, And as a science fiction game, it should be possible to genuinely produce a material we can today, although with better results. The reason why I suggest this is because scientists believe it has the ability to defy gravity in a way: its gravitational field extends past the atomic structure, meaning it is repelled from matter. This means things like hovercraft, inertia-less space drives, and easier-to-use jetpacks (flip it on, hover an exact amount about the surface, until the power source drains) can be created. It is also known as Elerium, Elerium-115, E-115, and Element 115.
Some made up alien metals? I got some ideas (I'm awesome at making names for those, so I've been told) -Archaridium -Echosarite -Marsarite If these are real words or related to real words I've never heard of them.
Archridium- about as strong as platinum but slightly radioactive. Echsarite- a somewhat rare metal about as strong as silver but extremely light. Marsarite- identical to gold but more valuable.
Can't forget about the most commonly used spaceship alloy tritanium XP. Also to note, through the dev's specific wording they make it seem like all the weapons with thousands of variations do the same thing and nothing else.
I honestly think that the sections are off, if this game is in the future than all ores should be rare because of intense greedy mining systems! ~ Thank You! John Devince
I do like the idea of the natural rocks/gems/ores across the galaxy. Although, I do imagine that the game will have more made-up space metals, to fit in the sci-fi theme... Oh well, I don't think I'll be mining a lot, unless I have to. This is an adventure/exploration game. But still, I wouldn't mind a uranium rocket launcher.
Um ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, blood stone opal, jade, cats eye fake ores: Doom Ore, Blood Ore, Organic Ore, Lunar Ore, Solar Ore, Soul Ore
Even though metals of the Platinum group are very shiny and rare, I believe that having so many of them in the game could cause confusion, as they are all very similar (Silver is also similar in appearance). I do think that Osmium, another member of the Platinum family, and the densest natural element, could be neat.
How about an ore called Equestrium that is rainbow colored and you can make it into shiny things. Lol, Equestrium.
All the while I was reading this list, I was thinking "Unobtanium", getting to the Alien Rock list, I lolled so hard for it being first on the list XD It's funny because it's unobtainable :P However, sice when does Magnesium explode? It does get quite bright and hot, but I've never seen it explode. Extremely bright lighting effects might even be 10 times cooler than an explosion :)
I think that having THAT many minerals would be a bit difficult, but a few of them would definitly provide useful items or crafting recipes
