I started this thread to help modders find out if their mods were broken. i had a set of mods that worked before the patch. i removed all then added them back one at a time. these caused crash before loading screen. persistent containers, printable seeds, persistent farming. feel free to add to the list.
This update changed the pak format, and old pak files aren't compatible with the new pak loader. Any mod that used a .pak file, and hasn't been updated since before today, will probably cause the game to crash while loading.
I was thinking it was a BetterMerchants-only thing... when did this update come out, exactly? Because if it was this morning, that would explain why my mod isn't working even though I uploaded a new version this morning and could not find any obvious issues while unable to unpack the mod...
If you want to get the mods updated faster, it would be better to put a message on the mods discussion thread. We get notices for that in our alert box. They changed the way that the assets are packed, and sadly it isn't backwards compatible. Also, thanks for using "affect" and not "effect". The small things make the difference.

Any custom race creation interface mod is more than likely going to be broken since the default menu appears to render differently than it used to. I tested my custom race with Xander's Simple Extended Character Creation Mod, Kawa's Xbawks-Mode Character Creator and Ganondude's Character Creation Species Extension. All of the interfaces appear to be off-center now with the right side being completely cut off which results in either custom race buttons not being visible or the actual character display being cut off.
