  1. HunterUTF

    HunterUTF Void-Bound Voyager

    Code:
[21:32] <Hunt> @Tiy : On the ground we have mechs and other nice stuff. There will be water/underwater vehicles ? Water affect vehicles ?

[21:33] <@Tiy> we could certainly do underwater vehicles

[21:33] <@Tiy> there arent any atm
[21:33] <@Tiy> but its easy enough to add
I'd love to see submarine ;D Yellow one !

    EDIT@ And more !
    Code:
    About gameplays
    [21:38] <@Tiy> gameplay videos soon :P

    About beta
[21:39] <@DoctorRagnarok> Beta is still undetermined, but completion is estimated for end of the year

    About Monster's Randomization
[21:41] <@Tiy> our system basically ehh
[21:41] <@Tiy> well, it puts arms, legs, chests, heads together intelligently
    [21:41] <@Tiy> to create a new monster
[21:42] <@Tiy> then it colours it
[21:42] <@Tiy> then it decides to give it wings or not
    [21:42] <@Tiy> thennnn
[21:42] <@Tiy> it gives it unique behaviour

    About breeding monster
[21:45] <Thanel> Are you able to collect monster parts to create your own pets? That would be nice ^^

[21:45] <@Tiy> you cant collect the parts
    [21:45] <@Tiy> but
[21:45] <@Tiy> we're toying with the idea of monster breeding
[21:45] <@Tiy> so if you have a monster with tentacle arms
[21:45] <@Tiy> and a monster with.. idk.. tiny clawed legs
[21:45] <@Tiy> you could breed them and get a monster with a mixture of their attributes

Round planets? Does this mean planets will be different shapes???

  6. Round as in, the map isn't infinite; running all the way in one direction will make you return to where you started from the other side.

  7. Fuzions

    Fuzions Zero Gravity Genie

Doubt it. Someone asked if we would be able to dig down and reach the other side of the planet, the devs answered that it's impossible, since planets have a super-heated core.
Planets in starbound are supposedly based on real planets, all round.

  8. Bizzalls

    Bizzalls Orbital Explorer

Idk if this was discussed elsewhere.. Are there going to be asteroids and space debris to land on? Because those could be various shapes.

Most likely. Coords don't always bring up planets, so it's possible that they can bring up asteroids, space debris, nothing, etc.

Yeah I imagined the asteroids would be different shapes but it just struck me as weird to add "round" to describe planets with heated cores when it's already implied that planets are round. Kind of like saying "wet liquid" or "hot fire".

  11. iliekmudkips

Can you tell when you're close to the core, so you can dig around it? Or will the core be the punishment for digging straight down? Also, If you do end up digging around it, when you're digging down from where you began, would the screen flip so you're facing upwards, even though its on the opposite side of the planet from where you started at?

  12. Marky Devereux

    Marky Devereux Void-Bound Voyager

I'd like to think there will be a way to shortcut through the planet core, maybe with a mech or vehicle of some kind, but only the devs can know...

  13. Fuzions

    Fuzions Zero Gravity Genie

Digging around a core is digging down for awhile, then dig either left or right for a long while, then digging up.
Now you're at the other side of the planet.

  14. OnyxAlchemyst no Mokou

    OnyxAlchemyst no Mokou Spaceman Spiff

It seems to me that the core is supposed to be an impassible layer at the bottom so that the devs wouldn't have to worry about how they would pull off falling though a planet. And I'd expect I'd be able to tell when when I'm close to the core; they've already stated that there won't be foreground material blocking the player's view, and it's a side view; so a player would very likely be able to see the liquid core well before they actually hit it, like lava in Terraria.

Oh well, now those are some really weird mobs, loved it!

  17. Ashen

    Ashen Scruffy Nerf-Herder

I want him to post generated mobs all day... Although I guess it would be better for him to get back to work so that I can play with the randomly generated mobs all day instead of just looking at them. Of course it seems the mob generating engine is working fairly well. Especially like the last one since it gets my imagination revving... Was a diver swimming in a toxic superfund and got merged with an octopus? or even something more diabolical happened far out under the sea?

  18. iliekmudkips

    iliekmudkips Big Damn Hero

oh, and will the players be able to screw around with the mob generator system?

  19. KuraiRyuu

    KuraiRyuu Space Kumquat

Probably. They do want the game to have good modding support.
