Methinks a water cannon would see more use at forward outposts. Set one up on a lake/river and you've got near-infinite ammo. That sounds awesome.

 

Yea, something automated defending you/your base would be awesome...
But I like killing monsters/creatures without those, killing them with a weapon in your hands, just satisfies me more than seeing something else do the job.
That's just my opinion

 

Water cannon? Pfft! I say, LAVA CANNON!

 

Lava cannon? Pfft! I say,ACID CANNON!

 

I'm with you on that, but in occasions where you are trying to build something or just want to get something done and don't want any interruptions the turret would be the way to go.
