Hylotl gear would include water gear then? But wouldnt it be strange for Hylotl to actually drown if they didnt have natural water resistance?

 

actually, anything can drown- even fish.
Its because they don't breathe actual water, but rather have their breathing organs evolved in such a manner that they can filter oxygen or whatever they DO breathe from the water.
keeping that in mind, its perfectly possibly that a freak evolution a long while back (or something similar for anti-Darwinists) caused them to lose their ability to filter oxygen/required-gas from a liquid environment.

Also, here's a fun fact.
The reason fish die when they're taken out of water is because of how their gills are evolved to extract oxygen from water to such a degree, that when taken out of water the fish will essentially overdose on oxygen- essentially drowning because there is too much air for it to handle.

i'd rather have something strange than having to choose the hylotl because they don't need waterbreathing gear (and thus a valuable tech slot)

 

DAAAAAMN. The list of features both planned and certain is intense. Like too much to even keep track of. Im sure my head will be spinning in game. The way the list looks, it seems as if the game is almost done.

EXCITING!!!

 

everione, just think, the day the game is released, everione pc is goint explode from overusing... so tart saving money for a new one

I hope I can ask a question here. I figured this might be the best place to get an answer. I'm a little confused on the beta and release date. I understand that everything is completely up in the air; however, I was wondering what the lastest buzz is about the beta. Is the beta suppose to come out in March? Also, is it looking more likely that when/if they release a beta it is unlikely that they will release the full game this year?

I'm only asking because I have a bunch of friends that want to play, but some of them aren't interested in playing a game that isn't finished, and I'm trying to decide if I want to play the beta or wait until the full release. If they do a beta similar to Minecraft, I probably wouldn't wait for the full release, as that can take a very very long time.

Anyhoo, I realize again that there are no set answers, I just want to know what the developers are thinking they might do as of right now. Any info is much appreciated!

 

The most that we know is that "the game is planned for release in the first quarter of 2013". As for the Beta, I have no idea. To me, it seems most likely that the Beta will be available around March and the full game in June/July. Anything can happen, though.
Also, kudos for being the user who's asked for an update on the release date in the most educated manner I've seen so far

also, considering the amount of feathers covering a human sized bird-man, its possible for them to be born covered in Down for warmth. I have no problems with it.
