Good evening everybody, I think it would be cool if the player could pick up the liquids(water, lava..) with some kind of tool. It should also be possible to craft a storage for the liquits where you can transport them. You should also be able to craft some kind of pump which can pump this liquids trough pipes into these storages. Well, I hope that get some feedback!
pretty good idea, except for the lava one. A bucket would do, wouldn't it? which, by the way, not whitch. whitch is a combination of which and witch lol
Ah, yes, thanks, didn't see that I don't speak english normally. Edited. Hmm I don't know how many liquid you should be able to pick up with a bucket, but that's also possible. Hmm why not, but I think you'll be drinking all the time if it would be in ratio with the food bar.
You could just craft a wooden cup from the start and drink when you find a source. Hot water (Magma/lava/desert water) would even warm you! It would make more sense than stepping in poison and getting an infection.
I was thinking of starting a thread for a liquid transference device (whether it be tubes, buckets, or something different). I would think a bucket would do good with most liquids. I was thinking: Wooden Bucket- Water, other similar thin, regular liquids Iron/Steel Bucket- Poison (for traps) and similar somewhat-corroding liquids Some Higher-Tier Metal Bucket- Lava, and similar burning/melting liquids I would think buckets would be the most basic, something you can always have off hand. They should be stackable, 3 to 6 buckets, but only when empty. They could hold 4 to 8 tiles of liquids, depending on bucket (Wooden > Iron/Steel > Higher-Tier Metal). This would be able to help a bunch with traps and such, especially if fish start dropping things (spawning in water so you can farm them). I don't think the Thirst Bar would be ideal, especially when you are on a desert planet or if you are on a long mining excursion. It would truly just get annoying or in the way. At least with food, you should have a stead supply (whether farming or killing creatures) and you can just shove a couple things in your mouth without really having to work for it. I find the food meter to not be a big deal at all, other than in the beginning day or two, in which you can just die (in Easy and Normal, not in Hardcore) to get all health and hunger back.
Wow, I see you really thought about that. I think that would be a good idea with the various buckets. And about the food bar: What would you change? There's not a lot you can do without making it pointless or annoying, or do you have a concrete idea what to do? An idea would be to make it worse to die with more consequences.
No, I wasn't meaning anything with the hunger bar other than to show that the Thirst bar would suck and be intrusive in the overall experience. I find the hunger bar to be good (reason to kill monsters instead of making them just money sources, like most games do) but the thirst bar, I find it quite annoying. I understand that the hunger and thirst makes sense outside of the game, but I truly think that the hunger bar was only because of meat from animals, to make them need to kill them, to not be afraid. The hunger bar seems to be much more than just a hunger bar, if you think of it. Would you want to try to kill those scary (or sometimes cute yet deadly) creatures if you didn't need to?
Ah okay, sorry for this misunderstanding. Because of this reason I also disagree for a drink bar, too. And yes, you're right, the survival feeling would get reduced without the hunger bar.
