Crab pots only needs wood and copper to craft after taking the level 5 perk. This makes them much more accessible.

Each crab pot basically fishes for you once a day. That's +1 fish/trash a day per pot.
Trash isn't worthless. Cause, recycling machine. They're actually pretty useful, cause coal.

Whether that's worth not getting the 25% in fish selling price, depends on how much you fish per day.
But I can understand someone that sits around and fish for 6-12 in game hours a day would like Fisher more though.

Level 10 is mostly irrelevant as the main source of money, farming, should be rolling by then.
Maybe Pirate for helping with artifact hunt.

I have 116 ancient fruit plants in my greenhouse. While berries are helpful the problem is that once you have a little money making more is easy. When you are planting 400-600 crops at a time it doesn't matter what you plant, you're still making an excessive amount of cash. The game desperately needs an "end-game" or some cash sinks.

Yeah, little crops don't matter when you're pulling in 200k every 8 days lol. Not that you could ever spend that much money...

I think that's why most people have a huge row of kegs and then fill the rest of the farmland in with bee boxes, because... why go through all the work tilling and watering little crops when you can make a LOT more money from honey and ancient fruit wine?

But do people really start with kegs and hives or do they build up a big pot of cash and then use that to snowball? Maybe preventing the build up of cash is an alternative way to solve the 'problem'.

Actually I started with a very small farm maybe 30-40 crops for my first year. It was primarily the 8 bee boxes and excessive amount of mining and foraging I did that snowballed me. I think if there is a "problem" per say it's that again money makes money a bit to well in this game. My first year I made around 800k total my second year I made a mil by fall

So maybe foraging or fishing is too lucrative? All I'm saying is that there must be a better way than just adding more expensive furniture to buy. Maybe it should be harder to earn all that money.

I love how this went from a guy trying to decied what perk to go for to NEED MORE MONEY SINKS

The problem here is that anything specialized can earn you that money. Having some 20 steam friends who play it Manu of us did different paths. It all ends the same by the end of year 2 you are rolling in cash unless you are just derping super hard or purposefully limiting yourself. The only way I can tell to make money hard to get is to nerd all the selling prices or nerf prices when you sell in bulk. For instance if you ship 30 or more of the same thing you get less, or if you always ship the same thing you get less. But that feels like a punishment, and it also won't stop the problem just delay it a season or two. The game is amazing but it lacks a purpose after year 2 unless you just want to 100% collections.

You only need 2-4 kegs to start raking in money.

And considering that once you get down to the 60s in the mines (easily done in a few days) you can start getting copper, iron, and coal which means you can start making things like kegs, bee boxes, etc. This can be done as early as your first summer, I'd think, if you knew exactly what to do.

If you prioritize getting to Floor 70 (so you can keep running 60-70) first (of course, while tending to a modest amount of crops at the same time), you'll be raking in thousands every few days by the time Fall rolls around.

Then, beginning of Year 2, things should really start taking off especially if you spent that winter fishing hardcore (like, emptying your energy meter every day).

Then, when Spring comes back around, start planting again (by this time you got Quality Sprinklers!), and well... by the time Winter 2 rolls around... Money ain't no problem by then. You should have a good production line already started. Your kegs should be churning out whatever you can stick in them, bee boxes should be producing honey (you ARE planting flowers near them, right!?), and you just steamroll right along.

Fact is, I think I might see if I can't put together a "Make a ridiculous amount of money ASAP guide" that covers an all-around jack of all trades approach to getting lots of money early based upon going to the mines ASAP.

Once you get access to Iron (and then Gold!), you can make lots of stuff that makes money a non-issue. I'm starting to think the only reason why a player would ever want animals is for the bundles at the CC. Yeah, my animals produce money, but after seeing what wine and honey does... it's a drop in the bucket.

If anything, Honey and Wines are just overpowered. Most of the "ridiculous" setups are centered around them. And even with the nerf to wild honey (which doesn't mean anything if you're using flowers!), it's still crazy money.

Can you place beehives in the greenhouse for Fairy Rose Honey year-round?

                            Nope.

Bee Boxes must be placed outside. You can place them in the GH but you won't get any honey (because bees can't get in the GH obviously).
