I'm really really glad that birds actively try and stealth bomb you now. A hellfire of giant boulders and acid vomit from nowhere really makes the game a lot more interesting.

Ha! Well said! Reminds me of a scene from "Without a Paddle".

    "What are you doing?"
    "I'm taking off my shoes."
    "Why?"
"Because I run faster without shoes."
"Dude, you can't outrun a bear!"
"I don't have to outrun a bear. I just have to outrun you."

I hate the ones that shoot rapid fire needles. A squad of them were chasing me and my friend. "Shots fired! Uggdfghtcrg THEY GOT ME RUN CYBER ILL DSTRACT THE:MMMM".

Why not have birds with ranged attacks at least not do damage on touch and birds that DIVE have no ranged attack but damage on touch. Some variety.

No too balanced, every bird needs to know at least 3 moves so I know for a fact that I'm fucked

    Well said.

The problems with them, as I see it, are:
-Useful missile weapons are too rare
-Craftable missile weapons are absolutely worthless
-Bug currently causes falling bird corpses to deal damage
    -Aggro range is too high
-Birds don't always fly close enough for melee

I'd prefer something between Last patch and this patch, Still deadly fraggers, but don't aggro you from what seems like miles away. Fraggers are killing me more than land critters and poorly planned jumps. And dodging doesn't seem to be an option or out running unless you have a speed boost going.

I agree that they can be relentless, but I really much prefer antagonistic birds to the way they use to be. Before the update, I didn't even care if a bird flew by, or shot at me or what have you, they were like playground bullies, you ignore them and they go find something else to do. Heck, in the old system, I'd shoot the the birds that would attack me, and then miss because they decided I wasn't worth their time and flew away.

Birds have been my main source of food and leather. I love it how they hold still to line up their shot, so I can line up mine xD

Exactly, I completely ignored them before. Now I pay very close attention :)

There are passive birds :) there the same as other passive things, attack them, they attack you.

Well, birds ARE evil, selfish little bastards. Just saying.

They seem to be balanced enough to me, I just jump and hit them out of the sky with a two hander before they drop their special attacks. Much better than before when players were rarely threatened by any of the wildlife.

Is there a random chance of birds not all being hostile on a planet? Cause all the ones I see are always hostile.

With New bows (coz i didnt had steel bow in previous version - so they just added it?) birds are perfectly fine with me.

At one point, I could have sworn there was a bird that casually meandered overhead.... but I could have imagined it. o_O

It sucks that I have to drop whatever I'm doing just to focus on them, but I can deal with them. At least when it's one at a time. In groups though.. oh man.

The issue I have is if I get clipped while jumping to dodge their attacks I get absolutely LAUNCHED in whatever direction the attack came from. Seriously, it's almost like the giants from Skyrim only more silly. But hopefully that's getting fixed so yey.

Also, it sucks that I take damage from their corpse but I'm assuming that's getting fixed too.

Even once those two things are fixed, I still don't think I'd like them too much. Their spawn rate seems kind of high. For ground monsters the spawn rate is fine--they only cover a certain length of ground from where they're spawned at, allowing you to clear the area and explore a few things. The birds on the other hand just seem to keep coming from the left or right until they find you.

To me, random bird attacks disrupt the flow of how exploration currently works.

Iv found many passive birds, but it seems the recent patch lowered the spawn, since now there harder to find lol
