I love this ship. I'll have to copy the beds and lockers in the big room because I prefer to make my big storage in a ship. I don't need to reset my universe folder for Fracking Universe, but who knows...
Aw yes, made my second favorite ship after the exploration cruiser I made before It might look somewhat familiar to people who play a certain space exploration/fighting game, but for those who don't recognize it: It's the Anaconda, from the game Elite Dangerous. The ship is small. Y'see, at first I thought the reference ship was a sort of strike fighter. It was only when I tried finding a picture of the back end of the ship that I found out that this strike fighter is, in fact, a cruiser, and the 3rd biggest ship in the game. Whoops. I still like it as a fighter though. The odd room with all the vents outside on top is supposed to be a missile launcher room, with a missile cycling thingy below it and the container is supposed to be where you store the missiles. The room behind that is cargo, the room behind that is where you can keep prisoners in force cells. Behind that is the laser control system and a tri-laser thingy. The engine is a bit meh though. But hey, I like it, and your opinions don't count! (They do. I care about everyone, and their opinions too! ) The lifts are supposed to represent hatches! There's an ancient door under the one in the cockpit and two secret doors at the cargo room hatch to prevent you from jumping out when the hatches are closed. Ignore the first two spoilers. I don't know why they're appearing, but they are. The persistent switch and OR gate make a pulse circuit: The buttons set the persistent switch to TRUE, which triggers the rail stops (to make the elevators move) and the OR gate. The OR gate sets the persistent switch back to FALSE. The buttons also trigger the lever, which is used to open or close the ancient hatch and secret doors. Note: Using the persistent switch to trigger the lever does not work correctly. It will not always trigger the lever. Reference:
I don't really know, but they really are awesome. I wish there were more dark blocks. Maybe dark gray metal plating or such. I had to result to turning the outside of my ship into a very poorly designed road to make it look dark. (Asphalt blocks.)
By the way, anybody feel like being a guinea pig? I want to test if this ship building mod is MP compatible.
Not a super amazing ship, but I am proud of it and it gets the job done. . The cockpit is not done, I am still looking for stuff to put in it.
I'm curious, is it possible to obtain the blocks used to make the walls in Human ships using mods or admin? There's areas I've wanted to block off/patch up, but I can't seem to find a reference to the blocks anywhere.
If you are talking about the walls you can't mine, then no. This is because they actually are not blocks, but an image (The whole ship minus the background blocks, door, chair, fuel hatch, thrusters, AI and storage locker, plus anything you have put there). Every "stage" of your ship progression is a different image.
With some effort you could take parts of the human ship, use l33t coding skills to turn them into decorations, and place them like that.
They just are, you can mix them with a lot of other styles too and make something that looks like it fits together. It might just be me though, I tend to throw pretty much everything together and see what looks good.
It's still early days for the "USCM Nimoy". It seems to take longer in Starbound 1.0 to upgrade ships.
If you recruit crew members, you can upgrade for free... well, mostly free. You still need upgrade modules.
Does anybody have some tips for making the walls of your ship more interesting? I'm building a huge ship right now, but all the background walls are just plain white wall panels, which looks really boring.
Adjust the walls to what your room represents. White tiles for medbays and science, iron tiles for maintenance. I personally use a lot of concrete walls for backgrounds and then outpost supports for supports.
Here's a question. If I modify the humanT4blocks.png can I place objects on those areas of the ship that are not normally able to have them? I was thinking of mounting lights above my "USCM NIMOY" name I added to the ships .png to light that area up a bit. Makes sense to have lights there above the ship name.
Wow, this ship was a pain to build! Pictures aren't merged, because I don't know how. Thanks to killfalcon for helping me set up the meter that measures the fuel tank's erchius! It got cut off in the pictures, but to the left of the small rectangular set of 2 rooms, near where the teleporter is, there are 2 booster flames.
