This is my current ship (I used admin to spawn a lot of objects on both ships): I was most proud of my previous ship before the last wipe which took inspiration from lots of builds posted on reddit and on these forums. I sadly didn't get a screenshot of the full finished thing but here are some different stages it went through from earliest to latest (don't mind the painting in the living room.. a friend made it):
Hi guys! Thought I'd join in and post my ship! Its full of stuff I've collected... I think it looks okay haha! Anyway here are the images: The Cockpit: The Greenhouse: The main body of the ship: The rear of the ship: Almost Overall: Let me know what you think! I'd love a bit of feedback!
So here, we have the bridge. The console is wired to turn on the monitor up top there, thought that lent a nice contrast to the whole traditional Hylotl vibe we had going on. This was originally supposed to be a pirate vessel, and then I started developing the character of the Gray Hylotl-- and the ship became two parts home, two parts palace. A professional's home has to look the part, so he had a hot tub installed. The Farm, growing Pineapples, Sugar Cane, Grapes, Coffee, and Kiwi. I wish I had more room to expand the farm, but that'd infringe on the master bedroom (the place with the bed, the coffee maker, and the layer of gold and gems littering the floor) and the tech room. It's still very much work in progress as I figure out what to do with the rest of the space, but I'm really liking the vibe I got set up.
Looks like a lot of work went into it and this with a very nice result. But the the last two rooms (bottom left) now look totally out of place (they stand out too much from the rest). The green house looks like a "real" green house now, what I like a lot.
Thanks man! yeah I know, those parts I need to think about. I need to add plants and green to the locker room (it's where I keep everything I've ever picked up haha) and I;m not sure what to do with the apex researcher guy's room. I'm tempted to swap it out for either another Floran guy, or maybe an Avian... What do you think?
The "Locker room" shouldn't be too hard to adapt. Either use wood as background (like your other rooms) or try wicker (new material found in houses on Savannah biomes. Can also be painted!). Because of the space above and between the lockers you should be able to place some grass blocks above them and some lights between them. Or try standing lights between them. "Glow vines", which can be bought from bio-lumi merchants, would fit very well, I think. The "medic room" could be kept as such and decorated with "furniture" like you can see in my ship (I believe this fits a floran "modern" medic bay the best ). You should decorate it with some grass blocks like your other rooms too ,of course. Oh, and wooden table lamps (as seen in my medic room) would fit your style, too. I think they are not too far "off" from your style. Hope this helps a little.
That's awesome thanks!! I can't find the post about your ship though! I wanna see what this looks like. I've never come across glow vines! I'll have to hunt around. I like the idea of wooden stuff in there as well, but wouldn't that get rid of the tenant in there? I can't really get my head around how it all works! I just flood it with stuff from one theme and hope for the best haha
Well, they're not exactly "legit" (I finished the game, wanted to build, but couldn't be bothered to legitly gather the resources), but I made two large custom ships. One is more of a pleasure yacht in space This one actually makes my framerate drop quite a bit when walking around the back end of the ship. Unfortunately, the ship's pet cat has a tendency to jump into the airlock chamber just before I start cycling the airlock. The other I made with more of a fighter type ship in mind. These are both made in vanilla (although I did use the creative mode mod) and I think they should work in multiplayer. Not sure about it though, haven't tested it yet.
My ship is just one page earlier to see. There you can see a Glow vine directly left of the Flower Spring for example (takes up 1 space horizontally). See the room directly above (top left) with just a bed and that lamp? The lamp ("Glow bush lamp") and a lumi bed are enough to make a lumi-merchant spawn! (which I did in my latest revision of the ship ). The best is to have a look here for all the tenant requirements. And no, the backround or walls of a room in general have NO effect on tenants. A "room" needs to be fully closed, though (which should be no problem within a ship with no destructible backwalls. hehehe). EDIT: The glow vines you can buy from a Luminous merchant. The Glow bush lamp you can find as blueprint in bioluminescence biomes, which can be found on the surface of snow planets for example. EDIT2: Here the latest revision of my ship: Now with some wicker behind the Flower Spring (painted white in my case).
Thanks man!! That's really helpful. I'm totally gonna try this when I get home from work tonight and update you!!
Here the final version, I think. See my (great) huge ship in its full (glory) size. EDIT: Now a not so messy pic.
I named my ship the Caladbolg,as my Glitch is a seasoned, former Lancer when he wasn't self-aware countless years ago,the ship is more or less a mobile fortress with a few modern additions to make any spacepirate feel at home. I was playing with my friend when I recently upgraded the ship size and decided to go completely gorillas-bananas,and re-decorate it,this first screenshot I took is a bathroom I made out of the small room that I honestly had no clue what to do with, you can also see the main dining hall to the left, and the kitchen quarters right directly under. http://images.akamai.steamuserconte...584/36F7211E88BA044CFFC0803654B40B166D1829FE/ This second screenshot is his main living quarters, where he spends most of his time lost in reflection, and listening to music that he has collected throughout the cosmos,an old habit from days being a lowly glitch solider,as music and sharing tales by a campfire was the only thing that ever calmed his nerves so to speak.V-0LK3R also readily embraced more modern technologies,as shown by the countless arcade cabinets, the gun pod,and stereosystems(He has also garnered an interest in the pop culture of other races as evidenced by all the posters haphazardly plastered near his bed, along with his favorite Poptop plush) http://images.akamai.steamuserconte...238/2C69AE67628E236EFEFA9E1FECE8885D681296E1/ Yeah, the RP is strong :L .
My latest characters ship has been dedicated to maximizing farming income. The Reefpods and Coral Creeps are pretty fast for growth, and don't need watering upkeep. The alternating planting is to avoid replanting offset errors. The ship door bottom right is locked except by pressure plate, which allows it to close quickly. The water has to be refilled by hand, and often spills. Which seems to be enjoyed by the Hylotl in scuba gear anyways Middle room is to get an Merchant for quick sales of the produce (somehow it's a Floran Berry merchant, though I was trying for Avian). The big room is an automated farm. The smaller temple bricks are actually the hidden doors, and they appear when the row below that thin floor is filling, then dump quickly (see the many other automated irrigation plans). The big crystal is a switch that activates the machine, and to stop it when it's out of water (manual refill also. Though it seems you can compress extra water into a space (try it). There's buttons to manually open the far right portcullis and hidden door below it to access for maintenance. The chest there is actually full of water Otherwise it's mostly chaotic storage and function over form.
I fly through the galaxy in my magical hoarder house - spreading joy and uncleanliness to all the people.
