Well, I can't take a pic of my Novakid's ship, because I'm too lazy to splice together screenshots, but my Glitch ship fits nicely when you're at 1x zoom. Not so fond of the cockpit, but I'm really proud of how well everything else turned out. I will admit a few items had to be adminspawned - the chandelier and throne in the throne room, the small lights and glyphs on the telepad, the candelabra and dinnerware in the cockpit, the gears in the crafting and storage bay, the doors of the dungeon cell, and the fire extinguishers placed throughout. Everything else, though, is legitimately obtained. What I'm really proud of is this ship's level of wiring. The switch in the cockpit activates a red alert that can be seen on alarms throughout the ship. For atmosphere, the lights in any room with an alarm are turned off when the red alert is sounded, leaving the alarm the sole light in the room. Red alert status also locks down the telepad room, ensuring that nobody can enter or leave via the pad The doors and lights are rigged to and switches in such a way that you can toggle the lights or operate the doors via proximity sensor when the alarm isn't blaring. In addition to the alarm system, the guard rooms and dungeon at the bottom have a neat bit of wiring. Hitting the big red lever in either of the guard rooms will open the dungeon door on that side, allowing you to admit or remove prisoners. There is a hidden switch, in the form of the left set of shackles, that will pop both doors open, allowing clever prisoners to escape. This, however, triggers red alert status. The library has no real interesting wiring for its own benefit, but the doors to the engine room nearby are controlled by the lever in the library. Hitting the lever also triggers red alert, since nobody is supposed to be back there besides me (and thus I'll know if someone's trying to rob my refinery while I'm elsewhere in the ship.) The bathrooms are wired so that when the lights are off (and the bathroom is presumably unoccupied), the doors are operated by proximity sensor. When someone enters and turns the lights on via the switch, the door seals and locks, ensuring your privacy as you do your business. Similarly, the guest rooms in the upper towers are wired so that when the lights are on, the doors are sensor operated, but when turned off so that you can sleep, the doors are sealed to prevent people from barging in and disturbing you.
so this is my "Ship" and my new forever favorite character, Tessa Wreckt First thing you'll notice is my Heated Erichium Fuel Pool, yeah feels real good on Novakid skin. Then my Study and living room, My garden, My workshop and my kitchen/bedroom every part was made when it was the mosty recent shipupgrade, and unchanged after except them pool had to make way for a Frackin' Laboratory also added my current gear, i think i got the the highest shield strength possible, and i loooove my broadsword/sniper combo. almost a necessity at Tier10 also p.s. the 3 ships above me on this page are simply amazing, put my ship to shame lol this is really how my ship evolved kinda naturally, i should really do a full theme overhaul sometimes.
Work in progress. Basicly all rooms with a custom background are done. I'm not sure yet about the other rooms, but that winding staircase is going to be the centerpiece of the center room. The cockpit and the workshop have automatic lights
lol love the extraction fan in the kitchen. cockpits great too just that golden bed looks so out of place haha, must be comfy tho. sleep like a real Sir ^^
I am particularly impressed by the fact that you successfully gew trees in that tallest car. I thought it was impossible! Kudos.
Lol I always wanted nature on my ship. It was first thing I tried. These Firs are nicest looking imo had 3 which was better but no room for anything else. Is novakid the only that can have trees comfortably?
Sadly yes. No other race has rooms that tall on their ship. I've seen a few Apex who have grown kelp saplings through platforms, but full-on trees are an impossibility for anyone but a Novakid.
Interesting! I was not aware that shields could have 450 health. Is that part of a mod, or actually in the game? I still have to beat Shock-hopper, but I thought the max was 350?
the difficulty that dropped this shield is in the game, theres just no way to get there vanilla. I had to modify Threatlevels for planets in the Terrestrial.Worlds.config to get threatlevel Unreal in vanilla star systems Mysterious stars mods unlocks Tier10 planets too
Y'know, we don't see a lot of Apex ships in this thread. Or at least not in the past few pages. So, here's mine. The first thing you might notice is that there are a crapton of alarms on this ship. Yes, each and every one of them works. They're all wired to the keypads in the medlab and the mess hall - activateing either keypad will turn on the alarms and kill the lights across the ship, leaving the alarms the sole light in most rooms. The atmosphere is great. In addition, each room has individually controlled lights - when the alarm's off, you can kill the lights in any room by flicking the lightswitch. The gunnery control room in the upper right quarter of the ship, closest to the cockpit, features a lockable door for security purposes. My character's bedroom across the ship from it features a door that locks when the lights are off, allowing for undisturbed sleep. All four bathrooms across the ship feature doors that are sensor-controlled when the lights are off. When you go inside and flick the lights on, the doors lock to protect your privacy. Just flick the lights back off to unlock the doors when you leave. The ship is kinda two-faced, reflecting the two major personality features of the character involved. She's a rough-and-tumble rebel medic, really good at both the 'rebel' and medic parts of her job. As a result, the left side of the ship, the "medic" side, is very orderly and organized, professional and calm. It's well-prepared for just about anything a space-doc could be expected to face - from a raging Floran with multiple stab wounds, to a Glitch in need of immediate open-chest repair procedures. Above the central examination and procedure room is the doctor's office and supplies storage, with her bedroom off to the left. Down below the exam room is a recuperation room, with beds for recuperating patients and lockers for their belongings. In the belly of the ship is a large swimming pool, full of healing water - one of the best ways to help patients rehabilitate after traumatizing injury, and it's good recreation too. The other side of the ship, however, is a bit messier and wilder, reflecting the 'rebel' aspect of her personality. The mess hall is a homey mini-kitchen. No oven, because she's a terrible cook. She understands microwaves, but cooking on a rangetop or oven may as well be an Avian preaching Kluex to her. If she tried using an oven she'd blow up the ship - or at least render a few rooms uninhabitable until the air scrubbers could kick in. Below that is her rec room, home to her favorite video game and her favorite poster. She's a little fond of strong banana-based drinks - partially because she likes the taste, partially because they're banned by the Miniknog. Above the mess hall is her crafting center, for making arms and armor, and off to the right of that is the gunnery control station for her ship. Four main cannons and eight point-defense guns is a lot of guns to manage, after all. Above those is her primary storage area, along with wealth management and miscellaneous crafting stations.
how the hell do you guys make a single screenshot of your entire ship? or are they frankensteined pictures?
my train one is frankensteined with a good dose of photoshop. These ships above however are on 1x zoom and/or a decent resolution and lol apex ships really look like mini death stars lol although in your case, its more of a staying alive star lol nice ship Nerva.
Here is my bounty hunter/collector ship, not yet completely done. Plan is to make trophy room for hylotl and novakids too. And here is my avian ship, also work in progress. Not yet sure what I want to put in those big empty rooms. Since avians remind me of Stargate and goa'ulds I made this "dark and evil". I'm using Extra Zoom Levels mod to take pictures.
To do so without mods, open starbound.config in your giraffe_storage folder, look for an entry that says "zoomlevel". Change it to 1. Then save & close. Next time you start starbound and load up the game, you'll have 1x zoom, which lets you see a ridiculous amount of screen real-estate. If you change zoom level in the options menu at any time, you won't be able to go back to 1x zoom unless you close the game, edit the .config again and restart the game.
