Its a very nice ship, i totally like it, but i would lag so hard in a ship with this size.

Good evening, rookie, and welcome aboard the Rhodes-Upon-Azure. I am Edric James Walker, executive officer of this fine vessel, and the person to whom the privilege has fallen to show you around your new home for the next three years.

It says here that you're ex-Commonwealth Navy? Which fleet did you serve in? Ah, I was part of Antigua Fleet myself - spent six years aboard the CNS Wei Xingbao.

Your shipmates will give you more in-depth, hands-on training, in addition to explaining some of the little quirks of this vessel once they return from shore leave; the purpose of this tour is simply to introduce you to the basic layout and function of this rather unique ship.

Right now you're standing in the cargo hold. Our primary mission revolves around exploration and colony support, and so we need to be able to carry everything that we need for each voyage. This place looks a bit empty right now, but a supply hauler is due early tomorrow. Hopefully the crew will remember that before getting too drunk on leave!

Here we have the guts of the ship - her engine room. The engineer's station is located above you, and life support is located below. You've got twin Westing-Galactic TFX-56000 dark matter drives augmented with a Kharak-Corp Fuel Synthesizer. They're not the newest or flashest things out there, but they're damn reliable and will eat almost anything; we can shovel nothing but coal into the fuel hatch and this baby will still keep on flying.

Below deck and to your right, you'll also see the little area of the ship affectionately known as the library. Hope you like technical manuals, engineering publications and Hylotl Manga, because that's the range of literature you'll find on those shelves.

This is the bridge. You've worked on ships before, so I'm guessing you know more or less what this part of the vessel does. Directly below you'll see a break room with adjoining facilities. That security hatch is completely soundproof, but you're still expected to keep things to a dull roar here.

Apart from board games night, that is. I don't give a crap what you think - rolling a natural 1 and failing a ridiculously simple saving throw so your level 22 Paladin dies from an infected knife scratch only a few hundred yards from the nearest town is enough to make even the most stoic man wail in anguish.

Anyway...

One great thing about these Spacebounder Class ships is the presence of these attachment points. Being able to clamp on a pod designed to fit your mission profile gives us a huge amount of flexibility. For this mission, the captain has selected a cultivation pod complete with self-enclosed life support and a high capacity reservoir.

This pod is designed more for the sustaining and monitoring of new flora, more than anything; if you tried growing all of the ship's food in here, we'd all starve within the month. But if you do have a green thumb and and want to try your hand at growing a veggie patch, be our guest. Nothing quite like biting into freshly picked tomatoes or chowing down on a crispy garden salad after having eaten nothing but Smeat-Loaf for a whole month.

If you get sick or injured, the sickbay is located directly below the main cargo hold. Don't forget to get the doc to do your physical before we set sail.

I said to you earlier that ours is a rather unique ship, and here is why. That's the brain of renowned astrophysicist Professor Ameria Young floating in that electrified preservative up there. She is connected to every aspect of this ship, and her already brilliant mind is augmented by this bank of super-computers you see here. From calculating trans-warp trajectories to switching off the stove when cookie forgets, her presence can be felt in every aspect of this ship.

The Rhodes-Upon-Azure can basically drive itself if need be. Normally a vessel this size would require a crew at least twice as large as ours. So why are we needed? Well, because the professor likes to have company, can't go on away missions, enjoys watching us as we go about our lives, and even brains floating in shimmering blue gel needs somebody to talk to now and again.

See those blue screens scattered all over the ship? Those are Ameria's eyes, ears and voice.

Wave hello at the camera!

This is our lifeboat, a Lemoine Spacer Combine Mark IV - more affectionately known as the Space Lemon. It has no trans-warp drive and no teleporter, so once you've been launched, your only chances are to touch down on a planet or get picked up by another vessel.

Even with our reduced crew compliment, it can get pretty crowded in here. But this cheery looking boat holds supplies adequate for months, her life support systems have never been known to break, and her engines are powered by collecting space particles.

Remember the story of McAngus Prott and Demetre naHandal? They survived for nine months aboard one of these Space Lemons before they were picked up. Sure, they were sold into slavery to a Glitch overlord, but the fact of the matter remains: these lifeboats are infallible.

Wrapping up our tour is the aft section. To the bottom left you can see the ladder leading into the lifeboat, followed by the corridor we use as a storage area. There are two cabins - topside and chinside - each consisting of four beds, with an adjoining ensuite.

You'll be in chinside, bed C. Your room-mates will be Doc Willoughby, Gill Dancer, and Kree Ace.

Given some imagination and inventive use of the 3d printer, the main hall can be set up for whatever function you can think of. We generally use it as a recreation area, and to screen movies during movie night.

Right now its in the style of a formal Glitch style banquet - tradition aboard this ship is that we host one whenever we get a new crew member. I hear the chef is going to be whipping up his famous blue lobster curry, so I hope you like it spicy, rookie!

And that concludes our tour of the Rhodes-Upon-Azure. Feel free to get settled into your new cabin, and if you need anything, just ask the Professor to ping me, or just pop by the crew lounge. The captain will want to interview you once he returns from shore in a few hours, so you might want to freshen up.

I call it the "Risky Venture" -- only the highest grade weapons, rare foodstuffs, ores, stims, and monster drops stay on board. Everything else is on the home planet.

My ship built from scratch and using only the materials available on the planet. Its a liquid fuel rocket and since I have no teleporter I use the landing capsule to land on the planet. Sadly it a one way trip.

This is my mobile base. More of utility than storage, but i made sure there were some decorative parts.
I can't wait until ship upgrades come out!

An update of my ship. Now with a Durasteel frame and running on Erithian Algae. I also use a space shuttle instead of a landing capsule.

The back of the ship with the engine, hangar and cargo bay.

Here is the middle with the greenhouse, labs, and stasis pod.

The front of the ship with cockpit, forages and even some bookshelves.

Just realized I haven't posted my new main explorer's ship here... not much to it, compared to modded stuff, and even my previous entry was more intricate (I never took the background out of this one)... but I still feel like it's pretty cozy, and the storage is easy to differentiate between.

Made with MadTulip's Starship mod. 95% of the ship are vanilla items, floor/ceiling and some windows are from the mod as well as some fabricating equipment for the floors/ceiling. All the other items are vanilla. Empty rooms will be filled once the next stable adds new items. (looking at you, outpost bathrooms)

pls ignore the giant version of my character over there,i'm calling that a hologram

would also give a link to full rez version of the image but seems like every upload site ever cant handle it
