Let's just get it over with already

I'm sick of waiting for the update to come and go all George R. R. Martin On all my characters. I want to get it over with now. So why don't the devs release a small update, containing the wipe and the new generation system. That way we can get on with our lives before the REAL update comes

Oh yea, your sick of waiting? Okay then, how about you get the update now, and then come to find theres a bug in the game that means there will be ANOTHER wipe. Give them time, seriously I get people are impatient, but this SPECIFIC update has something that is literally game changing in it. I don't want to get the update only to find it didn't work because they didn't test it enough. I don't want wipes, so give them all the time they need to make it so character wipes are no longer a thing.

 

Ditto to that ghostar! i agree this update is massively important or they wouldn't be internally testing properly.Lets be patient for this one :whistle:

 

I mean, it's only 24 hours left, if you can't last that long then you must not have very much to do.

 

They could release the patch as beta using steam. There is beta tab on steam. Current main game would be left like it is now and those who want would turn on beta.
Everyone would be happy.

 

and here i was thinking this was a beta test. Could you imagine "real" beta testers demanding an update from the developer during development?

I guess this is what happens when you sell a beta and advertise it on steam. I cant really blame the players. Its called a "beta-test" but its really a game release with expected updates. may as well call it free DLC.

 

The first thing I think of now when I hear George arrrrarr Martin mentioned is the wiener chorus.

I understand both sides - i am kinda impatient, but understand the necessarity of further testings, too - but it would be awsome, if u could give us more details of the patch, so that we know why we have to wait "so" long i think a lot of people would appreciate it and would make the waiting time easier.

Exactly. The devs are doing something that a lot of people asked for. This is a unique patch, so let's have some patience. It will be worth the wait.

Um, the entire reason for the character wipe is because they changed the way the core engine handles characters and updates. The wipe itself isn't the "feature" they worked on, it's a consequence of the engine change.

It's the part that affects us players/testers, but it's only a symptom...

 

agree with the OP, they should just release the patch already. it's like CF is afraid to let their alpha testers... test.
