    Hi all,
I think it would be a great idea if the implement a feature for us to launch probes into planets before we even think of beam to ground , this would scan the planet and give us a vivid details of what we expect to find on this planet. The scan should let us know what species dwell there or what minerals can be found.

++I would also suggest making disaster struck Planets upon beaming to them would trigger different scenarios like
1.Bio-Research: where some infection has spread through the planet and caused damage to people and environment and player has to find the infected/infestation source and destroy in-order to free the planet. this can be done as a quest .
2.Prison type Planets: where some dwellers prevent the player to escape from it. they imprison the player and the player has to find and escape it.

Probing planets are a nice idea... maybe on the computer(ship) we can see on each planet map (when probed) we get a list of "stats":

*Pie graph for elements in %,
*weathers: like meter shower, Blizzards.... you name it...
*man made structures listed: Castles X2 Avian airships X3 houses X5... list goes on... (again... surface only... think about putting the "good stuff" underground)
*list of creatures (only morning-surface creatures, exsclude mini-bosses; but this would also allow the players to see if the planet surface have NPCs such as town people).
*Boxes listed? just basically numbers of boxes and their types? like: "wood X26 Rainbow X5 Bone X5 Tech X9"

first 2 is important, others are just ideas...
