The large rotating capsules that give a buff or poison/explosion still one shot and at the moment are not worth opening.

I completely agree! Unless the capsule is within a screen of the beam down location I just completely ignore it. The couple seconds of extra jump height, speed, or whatever isn't worth the risk of the instant death and pixel loss.

If instead of killing you it just poisoned you, which is what the damage indicates it is, I'd be ok with it. Even if it was a very damaging or long duration poison... anything but instant death.

Although now that I think about it... instead of damage I'd rather see the negatives be debuffs. That way it either makes you better or worse for awhile, but won't be the end of your adventure guaranteed.

The reason you are instakilled is because you are standing too close. Poison especially releases multiple clouds in a scatter. Too close and you get hit and damaged multiple times.

The fix in my opinion is to either remove damage on hit entirely or ensure the game prevents multiple hits. I fully agree on there being no point. The buffsare far too brief to merit any risk.

Poison has never been a problem because bandages are a quick fix. Try keeping your distance and activating a capsule with the explosion effect and then tell me you know my gaming flaws having never seen me play the game.

There's still no reason to pick them up because the good buffs last all of 10 seconds. Even if they lasted 10 minutes I would stop to ponder insta-death. Insta-death should not be possible... even if it's avoidable now there's no way for the new player to know how to avoid it aside from just not using the buffs, it doesn't look like there are any projectiles to be avoided, it's just bad design. Everyone I know who plays doesn't pick up the buffs basically because of insta-death.

Can't be. You become invincible for a short duration when you take a hit. Multiple hits in a short amount of time will be ignored, save for one. You still get instakilled, regardless of armor and health, thus it isn't worth it.

If you're too far away when you activate it, you will not receive any buff or debuff from it. If you're in range, then you can get instakilled.

I agree, these things need to be changed. They seem like a neat idea, but I think more people are just ignoring them than anything because the risk of death is too high, and the payout of you don't die isn't really worth the risk.

The Invincibility only happens if the damage is over a certain amount, with the amount of clouds released it is possible that each clouds damage is under the amount, causing insta-death
