Hi there! I downloaded Starbound about 2 weeks ago and I love the game, but the same problem keeps on bothering me. Whenever I'm at a big place in the game (the outpost for example) or when there's a lot going on, the game gets super laggy and slow, the framerate drops by quite a lot and enemies stop moving. The game doesn't crash or anything, it just gets slow and the fps drops. My computer should be able to handle games like Starbound without any problems, so I was wondering if there is anything I can do to fix this problem or make it better? I just want to help report bugs and problems like this to make the game just a tiny bit better! Thanks in advance! :mwahaha:

Likewise. I can run fine on planets and the outpost, but that lunar mission straight up drops to a slide-show and items stop responding (bandages) and attacks take place in a single frame :/

Indeed! The enemies just stop moving and take all the damage in one frame, I forgot to mention that. Glad I'm not the only one with this problem!

This happens to me as well. Framerate is in the hundreds everywhere else, but my performance drops like a rock in the Outpost and Erchius Mining Facility on both of my systems. Roughly 20-25 frames, occasionally jumping back to 30-40, but never smooth. Strangely, however, my Macbook Air 2015 has no issues in these areas.

    System 1 specs- GTX 980 TI, i7 4770k @ 4.2ghz, 32gb DDR3, 1080p monitor
    System 2 specs- GTX 770, i5 3350p @ 3.1ghz, 16gb DDR3, 1080p monitor
    Macbook Air specs- Intel HD 6000, i5 (unknown exact model) @ 1.6ghz, 4gb DDR3, 1080p display

EDIT- I should also add that I'm on Windows 7 for the two main systems, and that I haven't played since the first one of the first Giraffe versions. At the time, System 2 was using Windows 8.1, and it worked flawlessly at the outpost and on missions. I don't know if it's a Windows 7 issue or an update issue, but felt it was relevant.

Alaine, a link to the specific mod would be nice. The only one I found hasn't been updated since Upbeat Giraffe.
