Outdated Kobold Race v0.1 Giraffe Like Kobold

    Tomorrow we'll have another update definitely! I say this, because I've put new armor values on the armors!

    Hopefully I'll be able to rock out items as well.

    As a slight P.S., let me know if anyone gets to the anvil and whether they can create tiered armor or not. I feel like I may be missing a patch file.

    I've played around a little with the mod using my existing universe with all the crafting stations on the starting planet. With the anvil I can craft the skulker's armor. No other armor options appear in any of the stations.

    Well, blast! That was a difficulty I didn't anticipate! Hopefully I'll be able to roll out an update today, but I've learned that my uncle is going to be in town tonight so I have a couple things I want to get done during the day today.

    If no update today, update Friday. Keep on hitting me with bugs. Am I right that there is no ability to craft weapons?

    Yep, no weapons other than the hunting ones, and the default tier 5 and 6 staffs and guns.

    No weapons was expected! Hunting ones, I suppose must exist no matter what. Oy, this file structure is a little different for patching in known recipes.

    My guess is tier 5 and 6 are also default ones of things everyone can craft. Kobolds maaaaay not end up getting those. But for now, eh, what can I do until I can replace them.

    Kobolds obviously should have staffs, but guns may be replaced with poisonous bugs in jars.

    As soon as I saw that you can catch bugs, I began picturing some sort of selective insect breeding program to get tiered bug weapons. So perhaps!

    Blow gun also makes quite a bit of sense actually... We'll have to have that as well, probably.

    Ooh, why not blowguns that shoot insect darts? You'd need a log of wood and some insects to make different effects.
    Like for example, using Flameroach bugs you can make a blowgun that burns, Icetip bugs makes for freezing monsters, etc.

    My plan (in order of importance, eliminating one I'm out of time)
    -Add in existing weapons
    -Add in existing armors
    -Add in Fluffy Wamblers
    -Add villages back in
    -Add in Arrengee things even if they aren't actually used for anything yet. There may be some work I need to do in getting the pieces to work
    -Add new content

    Officially working on the mod for a bit!

    I may have solved the whole no-armor problem already, I've balanced the armor back to their new version balances, and now I'm moving on to weapons. Armor came just a bit easier on hopefully having figured out!

    Don't forget, they're extremely good thrown projectiles! You can take down TITANS with them. Also BOLD v 0.1 is almost done.. Just hope I did the frames right!

I was thinking of having the of the first ship you get be an extremely broken down glitch ship that was SUPPOSED to be repaired before you flew off in it.

    Not wanting to make anyone's jobs harder, but I wonder if we could somehow make a kobold outpost (your original village) and allow the village elder or uplifter to be the ship uprade NPC.

    FYI, cutebolds were first designed by The_Weaver, of Ruby Quest fame. DF kobolds have pointy ears, brown fur, and yellow eyes- they're not very cute. I'd post a link but haha this is my second post.

    He made a custom cutebold spritesheet for DF, that's probably what you were thinking of. That, or the DF comic where a cutebold steals a sock? Anyway, it might be nice to give him credit for it, but I don't think he's that interested in taking credit for coming up with the idea.

    Actually, the custom sprite sheet was made by Mayday, if I recall. that spite sheet was spread by The Weaver. Weaver coined cutebold (though this is often argued, along with The Weaver creating epic fail guy). I do know however the concept of "cutebold" evolved rapidly on /tg/ and in the DF forums. I'm not sure how much it's differed since he coined the term cutebold.     Basicly what I'm saying, if we are to give credit where credit is due we'd have to follow an incredibly long paper trail that just leads back to bay12 and then eventually back to wizards of the coast, etc etc. The concept of cutebold has essentially been diluted to the point it's just basically just Dwarf fortress fanon and no one can really lay claim to the concept.
