Bug/Issue kill to get a thing for a quest

this quest most of the time, if not all the time, does this. once the kill the (bot this time) and get the thing back, to quest keeps saying you have to kill the bit, not point the way back to the NPC your working for. it doesn't change to say to go back til after your back.. pls get that fixed. it is a big pain.

the pics where the bot was befour i killed it and got the thing back, but if you look at the quest arrow and the quest part of both pics, you'll see it is still saying that the bot is alive, but it clearly is not alive.

in going back, i'm around half way back, and just changed show where it change, are at the quest giver's home.

 

I've had the same issue a couple of times. No idea what it depends on though...
