Kickstarter + Early access.

He was just commenting on how he thought that you killed the 'buzz' or conversation and he did it in an entertaining manner, aren't we allowed to have a bit of fun? Also, how is helping correct someones typos offensive? Surely it will help them not make that mistake in the future besides, just because he commented back to you with something you don't like you check ALL of his posts and see what he does, kind of creepy/butthurt.

 

Kickstarter would've made sense probably around the time it was announced, as it created a heap of hype back then. It would've allowed the devs to work on Starbound full-time this whole time.

At this point they could easily finish the development with the money they'd get from pre-orders I assume.

 

Yeah, Kickstarter takes 8-10% of the total pledges. Still good if you need to kickstart a project, not sure if it is worth it to the devs.

 

I would prefer directly purchasing from Chucklefish myself, but I won't complain either way.

As it is a Kickstarter could potentially double as additional advertising and generate funds beyond the base pre-order sales, allowing for further content development.

That said, they would still likely have to set up an extra purchase option for Paypal users anyway, as Kickstarter doesn't allow use of Paypal.

to stay on topic i would realy love early access to the game but it sadly does not look like something will happen in near future...

 

I don't think we really need kickstarter. I'm think pre-order profits will be pretty high.
