RELEASED Kangaru Race v0.5A

The updates don't seem to be working. I still can't craft aegisalt or ferozium armors.

 

I'm already aware of the issue (they did not renamed tiers 5 through 10 back when they changed the "leveling" system to a "tiered" one). I was trying to hold back from updating until the patch goes live (which should be happening in the next day or so) as I had planned to add a bunch of content for the update but anything could happen come time the patch is released (and I would like to fix any of those problems "before" possibly uploading).

On another note, if the patch does go live by tonight, I won't be around to make fixes as I have to deal with some personal things. I'll be back Wednesday (Tuesday for people in the USA) and will hopefully get cracking on updating.

Also, I'm not sure if it will be ready yet come the patch but I do already have a village in the works. I just need to nail out a few problems with objects not working as intended but hopefully I'll have it done soon.

 

Well we need to create new characters to get higher tiered gear to show up?

 

If the patch doesn't wipe characters, all you would have to do is craft the Durasteel Tech module again and use it (it will "check" the recipe list again and add the missing recipes).

As I said earlier, until the patch is released I don't know if anything will break and require fixing. The new player save format may also break current save files so be aware that progress made now could end up being corrupted or unreadable. This is just a fair warning on what might happen when the patch is released.

Still trying to get the town finished as there are a few quirks I need to tweak. Could take around 24 hours before it's ready, sorry.

granted i havent played this race ALOT but id like to see a custom outfit of boxing gloves and some boxing shorts to give it a rooish

 

OK i just tied it myself but it doesn't work. the characters are invisible in the character generator only their clothing is visible and it crashes upon start up. i dont understand why but that's all i get from this update.

 

I checked. Whatever causes this is not espilon's fault.

 

Do you have any other mods installed at the moment? Other then that, I wouldn't have uploaded it if there was something wrong with it during testing.

 

only things i have are this mod and the Felins. so unless the Felins mod is conflicting with it somehow i don't know what to tell ya.

Yes Lordwolfe. The game wouldn't even load if I didn't update the modinfo to work with the latest patch.

 

Trust me, it isn't.

 

I'm not even getting anything. Extracted everything to the mods folder, launch game, it loads for way longer than it should and then crashes putting up a bunch of errors.

 

Can you give me a pastebin of the starbound.log please? I'm not sure why people are getting errors to begin with, I just retested it personally and the files seem fine on my end.

Worth noting on this try starbound did load but it didn't give me any option to create a kangaru character. All sorts of interesting errors going on in the log.

 

Those errors are most likely being caused by the game trying to load "outdated" non-compatible save files due to the recent patch. It's best to just delete them.

As for the species not appearing on the race creation screen, you might need to download a character creation screen extender ( I've been using the Simple Extended Character Creation mod personally).

 

That worked, much appreciated. I had assumed the old saves were hard erased during the wipe, was wrong. The extended character creation mod worked like a champ.
