Kaedin's Pet System idea poll

So there has been much back and forth in the community so far about whether or not to add pets to the game.
One of the problems with the pet thread in my opinion is there is no definition of whether or not the pets do anything or a just there to look nice.

Kaedin on the pet stretch goal thread just posted this and I think it is a wonderful idea for pets:
What about this: integrate the already announced pet taming and combat system with this idea.

On your travels you can encounter randomly generated creatures that you can tame and bring along with you for combat. We already know of this feature.

Make the vanity pets part of this. You may randomly encounter these smaller pets that can be tamed, but which don't fight with you. Instead they could be more of a utility. Think of a pet that glows in the dark, a pet that emits warmth, a pet that starts wagging its tail when you're near a treasure chest. That kind of thing.

So you would have bigger pets on the one hand, that fight with you and don't do much else, and you would have smaller pets on the other hand, that bring more of a utility to your gameplay while not assisting in combat at all.


I for one would find this a very good and interesting stretch goal.
Pets have utility and are still collectable.
I have created a poll because I am curious what the community would think of this as a pet stretch goal.

Community is Divided about how Worthy is a Vanity Pets running after us to everywhere... From a possible 1 Million Goal.

There are awesome things that could be Added. Community want to be Impressed. DEVs please Impress us, don't add something already leaked time ago!

 

Just give us an option to not have pets follow us... Then I'd be fine.

 

But with this idea the pet would be a utility pet, which I don't think should be a full $1 mil, but it would better than what we have so far.
I for one say yay on this idea because pets do something.
