I just discovered Starbound yesterday while looking for info on a possible Terraria 2. I have to say I'm very impressed with what I see and was moved to pre-order. What I didn't realize was that I get the soundtrack now! And furthermore, the soundtrack is absolutely HUGE! With 51 songs and what appears to be well over 2-3 hours of really outstanding music, the soundtrack alone is worth the pre-order money. I'm listening to Mira right now and am absolutely floored at the level of quality being offered. You have set the bar very high
I'm afraid the forum section you originally posted this in is for if you have problems pre-ordering, so I might move this to Introduce Yourself. In any case, welcome to the community! It's always nice to hear people excitedly pre-ordering and enjoying the soundtrack. I can assure you Starbound isn't really Terraria 2, as it were. It's a spiritual successor, and will hopefully stand out from its peers.
Please feel free to move things around. I am not expecting Terraria, by the way -- Starbound seems to be quite different in many ways and I really look forward to playing it.

I've had the soundtrack running quite often while doing work, and I must say, it is quite awesome. Enjoy your stay on the forums while waiting for the beta. Welcome! In a sense, Starbound is a spiritual "Terraria 2", as some who worked on Terraria are workin' on Starbound (not sure who).
Thanks everyone! I'm just as anxious as everyone else about the actual release date. I'm excited to see the beta product. Funny side note: I justified pre-ordering the game by telling my wife it was 4 hours of really great music to work to, which, by the way, is totally true. I run my own business, and I like to have something to listen to while I work. Most music is too busy or distracting, and I end up actually *thinking* about the music, rather than what I'm supposed to be doing. Starbound's music reminds me of something I might hear at a massage session. It's relaxing and immersive, musically interesting, but not "busy" enough to distract. Perfect work soundtrack. I may have "forgotten to mention" to her that a game comes with this soundtrack... oops!

I know. There was a pretty big debate to whether StarBound should be the actual Terraria 2 or not... But, as it is, Terraria 2 is the only Terraria 2. StarBound is an entirely different game. Lots of people argued that StarBound is basically Terraria in space (but it's a lot more than just that...), so it should be the actual sequel to Terraria, but Terraria 2 continues the actual game, and it's contents have yet to be confirmed... Meh. It's more like this: A master (Terraria), his son (Terraria 2), and his disciple (StarBound). Edit: As far as I'm concerned, I don't care whether StarBound is Terraria 2 or Terraria 2 is Terraria 2. I'm going to get them both.
