Closed Just had some random patch, now game wont start

...

i right click steam and click starbound

then nothing

from patch page hit play nothing

go to library and hit play

nothing

if i click play like 40 times in a second it says preparing to launch but nothing happens after



worst patch ever ?

 

Apparently I'm getting some kind of JSON error that's preventing me from playing despite supposed fixes. Yay?

 

OP, it wasn't a random patch. ChuckleFish just released a new update to add features into the game. As for the problem I had the same. I went into the steam/steamapps/common/starbound/prereqs folder and installed both things, then it started working ok. try that first.

 

restarted my PC and instead of launching the game it launched the window you get when you normally close a steam game (update news or suggested games)[DOUBLEPOST=1440486043][/DOUBLEPOST]ok friend team viewed me fixed it

and now all my weapons do a total of 15 damage and they got rid of the matter manipulator and you cant craft a compound bow

 

Looks like it might be this problem coming over to the stable branch? Symptoms seem to be the same, though I have not tried the reinstall yet:
