just a thought...

    the game is one Year out in 4 Months.. so my thought..

    What if they plan an doing the next huge patch on that day just to celebrate their early acces release date? :O

    From the sounds of it - they only just started making missions - and are just finishing up the primary outpost one.
    Each mission would probably take around a week too finish per person. [ 5 x 7 = 35 hours - very conservative estimate ]

    After which George still and Pirate guy [ whose name I can't remember off the top of my head ] still has novakids \ archeology \ pets \ remaining bosses left.

    Kyren will constantly be working on server + engine
    Which leaves Omni and Meta with either the new merge mainframe [ if its going to be changed ]

    If going by the "Future of Starbound Post"
    there is quite a bit remaining.

      • NPC Spawners & Building Logic: NPCs will scan the structures you build around them and the contents of chests; they will have improved inventories/behaviors depending on how valuable their surroundings are.
      • Macro Terrain Changes: Affect an entire planet’s terrain and weather
      • More Planet Scanner Data: See details in the planet scanner like planet occupants/dungeons
      • Spaceship Dungeons: Very large, size of a planet.
      • Villager AI: Villagers will aggro when you steal from them and follow you more aggressively.
      • Spawn Points: Change spawn points on individual planets.
      • Capture Pods & Mercenaries: May be able to capture NPCs with pods. Summon NPC Mercenaries by using the pod as a beacon.
      • Other Changes: Colorblind Mode & Engine Optimization. FTL animation being revamped to reduce memory strain.

    y i know they got pretty much planned xD but maybe they will release finally a playable update .. would just be a good date.. still 4 months to go :rofl:

    I am not really fond of arbitrary release dates to be honest. If a something isn't complete, then it get released in a horrible, buggy state. And if something's ready for release but is being held back it is, in my opinion, a little pointless to keep it held back until the "special date". :p

    I am happy for the update to hit stable whenever its ready. It will be done when it is done, and I am cool with that. :)

    Yes! Ooh, and party horns. And cute little party hats too! :3

    Fireworks? Fountains of fire? Butter lettuce party?! SNACKS!!??

    Seriously though. A massive and fairly comprehensive update is most likely to come. Probably with special celebration items. If not, probably sooner.
