This is a really quick suggestion that I just thought up. So, the game has a "nude" debuff already programmed into it that removes all your armor. It's applied when you use a bed. I suggest that this debuff be used in a scistaff, giving it a very useful support role in later tiers, when armored npcs are much harder to kill with rapid-swing/shot weapons. It could give all humanoids in an area of effect the debuff, including allies, so it would have to be used carefully, and would remove all armor for a short period of time. This would scale very well into the late game, something scistaves are sorely lacking currently. In addition, an explosion that renders all caught within its blast naked would be highly amusing. Is this a terrible idea? No? Let me know!
It's certainly an interesting and novel-sounding idea, but there's one small problem. Humanoid NPCs and their defense values are not based on the armor they're actually wearing. Hitting them with the nude debuff may not actually affect their defense, unless a condition was specifically added for NPCs.
