When there's civilization, there's junk and rubbish produced. And this stuff has to go somewhere. So how about planets that are used as giant dumping grounds by several intergalactic nations? There would be little to no vegetation, dust storms that hinder the sunlight and endless mountains and valleys of trash.
The inhabitans could be trash gatherers, sorting bots that are supposed to "clean" the planet up (think of Wall-E) and all kinds of disfunctional, half-disassembled robots. Maybe some organic lifeforms adapted to the harsh landscape in some way. Also, you will find many criminal minds there, hiding from the law in the chaotic arrangements of trash.

    Anymore ideas?

I like the idea. I see it like this:

The planet will be a high-risk, high-reward planet. It will contain a harsh environment with devastating creatures. Why would anyone want to go to this planet you say? Well the planet will consist of a large amount of valuable, lower-tier items that can be acquired through sifting through all of the waste and rubble. The reason people would go to this planet is to acquire resources in a faster time and in more abundant amounts than on other planets, as long as they could survive the dangers of the planet.

    Nice addition, Milk.
I could imagine a rat-like tribe that worships the trash like it was as valuable as gold, attacking anyone who tries to take it from them. Also, there could be robots that use magnetic powers to manipulate the trash to their willing, like sucking it towards them to form a shield or shooting it right into your face.

Perhaps the planet could be made out of "junk blocks" for the most part. As common as dirt is on some planets. They wouldn't be useful for crafting anything unless you have a recycling center to turn them into raw materials. Still you would need a lot of them to get anything good.

It's like the land fill of space? I want junk monsters. Like in Starwars... That'd be amazing

That was the plan, that the standard dirt blocks are replaced by junk blocks on this planet that can be disassembled later. :)

you should be able to search the trash for rare items. you know what they say "one man's junk is another man's treasure"

This could be a place where you go if there are bounty hunter quests as well then

And sometimes you accidently activate an huge old roboter that wants to kill you - no pain no gain.

Maybe some of these plants can have a robotic civilization that could help out, or actively hunt you down. One other idea is there could be 'ghost'-like creatures, like Phantoon from Super Metroid roaming about that can't be harmed normally.

Yeah, I like this idea. Something like Scraparap from the original Jazz Jackrabbit. The planet is one huge scrap heap. At earlier player levels it is a good source of base materials but several decades of unregulated dumping have completely contaminated some parts of the planet. To effectively explore these areas the player will have to return to base and research better hazmat armor. Once in a full environmental suit, the player can recover radioactives and other elements needed to construct more efficient power supplies.

That makes as much sense as anything.

As for this idea as a whole, I like it
