Hasnt someone already told you the code for the Tiering of the Furnaces? I believe it was DarkNovaKid or something that told you,its in the Refresh Rate line of code or something,
I do too my brother, but quoting me is rather pointless if thats all you are going to say, woudnt you agree?
Story progression yay! One of the things I am really excited to see in starbound is story Anyways, tier 2 refers to beta stage 2 or tier 2 of the progression?
I can't find it, I also site-searched for it with Google but could only find an abandoned post about smelting speed (or any crafting speed) being hard-coded. In any case, I could just wait for a nightly update with the new furnace lodged inside and yank out the code from there! But if there are going to be new furnaces anyways, then instead of having the problem of furnaces being purely cosmetic, I'll have alternate skin/crafting method furnaces. Basically, it's a gigantic sideways move. But I am interested in what their version of an upgraded furnace looks like... I want to see how close I got!
Sweetness, two awesome things in one day! Granted, my baby nephew being born is significantly more awesome to me, sorry. This sounds ultra-awesome-fantastic! I hope a really rare stargate will be implemented which warps to TentacalEarth. That would be sweettastic. Ps: I am actually not high right now. Hard to believe, huh? Maybe I'm high on excitedness! Baby nephews for the win! Hey hey hey! Warp gates have been a sci-fi theme since before mAss Effect! Ps: Whoa totally didn't mean to capitalize it like that.
Ooh, man how I've been wanting a furnace upgrade. I'm not exactly feeling inter-dimensional travel however... the current game universe is plenty big. Wait, so in the entirety of tier 1 and 2 your FTL drive will be broken? How is the player supposed to get around without it? Am I missing something here? Perhaps I should just sit back and let the team do the thinking.
Meh, I'm not sure if I like the direction Starbound is going in but oh well. I don't like how the only things that ARE procedurally generated are weapons and sort of planets. Biomes take away from this, lots of lore and pre made story stuff also takes away from it. It just seems like the game is more of a Borderlands kind of game. It just isn't the randomly generated infinite world that I was expecting.
How will this work on servers? after someone does a quest (getting an item or something) on one of the planets, what are the other players going to do with that quest, if the object is already token?
Cool stuff @Tiy. Question. With static content comes something I've wondered about for, well, ever since the first time I lost my homeworld after I accidently set my home planet to something else... and never could find it again. Are there plans to have any sort of "planetary log" so we can keep track of the different worlds that we have been to and perhaps make some notes about them? I know there are mods for this but was curious if this was on the "we want to do this at some point" list?
Actually this raises another question, not just this one. Will there be a possibility for group quests with the grouping system? You could have one Quest giver say, "You're going to need more help for this. Grab some buddies and suit up, yo!" Or at least it could be an option to have a group do a quest then have the reward split among the members. The items would be tough to distribute but at least the pixels would be easy to divide by the number of group members.
Sounds good, thank you for your hard work. I am looking forward for next version/release of the game in Steam.
