wasn't it implied somewhere that the human ship bears military design? If so then how did a civilian got ahold of it? also all the gear obtained from it's AI would be military issued so there you have it. I don't plan on playing a soldier mind you but having military-looking gear would still make sense instead of "every person and their mom have access to power armor" feel. It adds to that. Also there will be nothing stopping you (save for some face eating monsters out there) from acquiring some other race's gear or using vanity slots if you don't like the looks of it. Only fitting, seeing that there are Colonial Marines in both of them.
Guys. You can add 2 different styles for most race-specific armors. Like, "traditional" (Glitch's eyegeddon, human's alien-like, fishman's 3-eyed) and more"plain" (2-eyed fo glitch and fishmans, military for humans, etc.) You unlock both at the same time and they have equal stats, only cosmetic differences (Sorry for fishmans, i can't spell it right. No racism)
Rather have something like this in direction of tier 10, less bulky then those massive space marine armors.
The armor looks fantastic, Starbound really needs some more of a serious tone to it. If you could make the other race's armors less gimmicky too that would be great.
I believe so I know the artist who made the first image. Nick made a video of it If Space marine armor made it into Starbound -- idk if I'd play another game.
