Jukebox

Wished more people visit the forums after buying the game, then we could have more great ideas.

 

The issue with midi files is that they are tied to midi fonts installed on your hard drive. If two people open the same midi file on different computers they may get different sounding songs.

 

I LOVE the idea. Even if it just cycled through different official themes.

I know some people might be opposed to this, but to make it feel like a real jukebox it could require a few pixels for song selection.

 

I really like the idea.

honestly i like the idea mostly because im a builder i love building beautiful houses/mansions and or towns and having a jukebox will give my constructions more atmosphere (space joke, get it? haha, sigh*) but the thing is i think that there should also be speakers you can add so that you can play it across a large area. also a jukebox right now would be too premature with the very limited amount of music available. yes i know that you can add music but i don't like changing the game from the way developers meant it to be. also if playing multiplayer on a server or something the song wont be available or could cause problems.but all in all good idea keep em coming!

 

i forgot. there is something i dont like. the idea of recording a song for finding instruments is difficult and then the jukebox would be useless.

 

Thanks for your idea, in my personal experiences I actually find instrumets fairly easily, maybe I'm just lucky to find them a lot.

 

Isn't so bad. I've gotten to the final tier 3 times, and found a fair amount of instruments along the way. Though seems like a hassle having to record yourself play it first.

 

Well you don't have to record yourself, I mean if you had a group jam session you could record it and listen to it or sell it. Perhaps that person isn't online, so you don't have to force said person to play in a group with you whenever you want to have an in-game party or just want to play it for others in the game.

It's very easy to convert midi to abc, I can convert a midi to an abc format in literally 15 seconds. However, I find it hard to find the midi files for certain songs, for example, there are no midi's of any of the minecraft music discs.

Also, aren't there already some jukeboxes in the game with prerecorded songs?

 

There are some objects, including the Apex disc-player, in the game that can play music, but we can't choose which they play.
