Ok, this is my submission Habitat:Plains, Volcanic Areas, Forest, Jungle, and Tundra. Description:It is a tripedal species, with three bone covered legs placed around it's main body. This body has its mouth which houses a long tongue mainly used to grasp and pull prey or leaves to its mouth, as it has no arms. It is omnivorous, so eats eggs, other species, and plants. Its neck is made up of tentacles, which can extend or lower allowing it to look above the tree line. Its head is covered with many different sized eyes so that it can be more aware. They are typically group creatures, and so travel in small herds. Below its mouth are two tusks, which are pretty valuable. Behavior:They mostly wander around searching for tasty trees, or smaller prey, but will attack if provoked. To defend themselves, they either ram with their tusks, or pull prey to their moth with their tongue and then bite it. In battle, it can raise its head above incoming attacks, or lower it to or below the main body to defend itself. Because its head also has an exoskeleton, it can be swung like a mace if all else fails... Drops:Here is a list of drops it could have:50%: 1-5 Exoskeleton Shard(s) - Can be used to craft armor, weapons, and mech.25%: 1-2 Tusk(s)- No practical use, but can be sold for a pretty good price.Tusk and shards: Life Stages: 1.Egg Stage The first stage is the egg. Crulta grow over time rather than being a fixed size, and when laid attack to the ground, a tree, or other surface. Eggs attached to ships have caused this species to spread over many planets. The eggs are inedible to humans, and are hard to collect due to the stickiness of their attachment to surfaces. When the Crulta is in egg form, its mother stays nearby to nurse the baby once it hatches, and then joins up with the herd. Often, herds with many females will stay in one place until all the eggs are hatched. This stage usually lasts about 5 earth months, but can last up to a year if hatching conditions aren’t right. Here is a picture of the egg: 2. Larval StageIn this stage the Crulta is small and quick. Its neck hasn’t split yet, and its mouth is only developed enough to eat leaves and twigs. Its tusks develop about two years into this roughly four-year stage. In this stage, the Crulta will travel with its mother in a small herd so as to get better protection. Some humans will take the young while they are in this stage of growth, as the soft flesh underneath the exoskeleton is considered a delicacy. Although the mother offers protection in this stage, she is not necessary for the young’s survival. Here is a picture of the larva: 3. Adult In this stage, the Crulta becomes self sufficient, and sometimes leaves the herd it grew up in. Crulta in this stage hunt, and use their tongue to grasp high leaves. Some humans farm Crulta in this stage, but their meat has become better protected and not as tasty, so farming is usually for their tusks. From this stage to death, Crulta usually live from 15-30 years until death. Here are all three stages for comparison: Below are pictures. Yeah, i made it in photoshop using the animate feature. Is there a way to do it quickly, or will i have to recreate the whole animation?
Nice idea Jon. Your design is uniquely alien and well thought out, and the pixel art really good for your first go! The larval stage was a good pick for your avatar too, it has a good cuteness factor to it for something that should realistically look kind of creepy. Just one thing though, and I don't know if it's just me, but a couple of your images seem to be corrupt and wont load... maybe you accidentally deleted them with your last update or something?
