Clearly you don't have the collection of shit I do. I filled every spot on my ship with chests and still didn't have enough room.

Knockback and energy usage are functions of the projectiles the guns shoot, and scales with the weapon's stated ROF and DPS. Hence, an AR with a ROF of 4 and a Sniper with a ROF of 1 of the same tier/level will have roughly the same DPS and average knockback (one sniper shot will deal as much damage and knockback as four AR shots, accounting for normal stat variations).

There just isn't any real reason to prefer any bullet-firing weapon over another. Again, it's understandable that the game is in beta, but more specialized weaponry would be great (damage buff for the AR, MP, and pistols, and a commensurate accuracy drop).

Anyone know if the slash was in with the Hunting Knife before the rebal patch?

Version Frustrated Koala brings about a crafted weapon re-balance. Is it still better than before?

Okay, a new patch and more balancing. Has Armor become useful?

10/10 would make a base there just because it's named Thanatos.

I haven't tested the new patch yet, so I'm not sure. It was in Tiy's "to-do" patch notes, but I'm not sure if they fixed it in this patch or not.

And when those back items are implemented, it'll be moved to the "fixed" section.
So far all we have is a pointless magic scroll, a pointless Hiker's Backpack, and the flower that increases energy regen.

A few back items are working items, but most are just visual. Hence the now "Most" on the back items, and the removal of "(if not all)"

What i got out of this was not a list of whining but a list of things that have been fixed and a list of things that still need to be changed......

building specifically right now is useless you can put 70 lab storage lockers up above ur tech scanner on a platform all the way across the top of your ship and never need to build a house ever there is no incentivization eventually we are going to be able to do more things with our planets that will make having a "home base" worth while.

imo things that need to be done to make having a home base worth it

    1. Have a long term fuel resupply method that is incredibly costly to build but also produces unlimited/nearly unlimited fuel requiring you to make an investment in a planet and return there to refuel.
    2. have more crafting stations than you can fit on ur ship meaning that your ship can be a temporary storage area for all the things you find but you will still have to return to a "base of operations to process everything that you find.
    3. Add renewable resources that make having a home planet worth something as of now eventually you will drain a planet of everything it could possibly offer...... at least trees ( ties in closely with 1 )
    4. Add in quests givers and merchant spawns that mean something giving people an incentive to have a place to return too.

These are just examples but i feel that they highlight a direction that the game could and imo should go that gives people a reason to make a base other that i'm going to make one cause i like to build pretty things in a game that only maybe 30 other people besides myself will see if they see it at all just b ecause i like the satisfaction of building things for no reason.............

For the record i am one of the people that likes to build things for no reason other than to build them i'm just saying there should be a reason to do so at least to some extent.

Yeah, as it currently stands, people just mod their ship to expand that rather than gather tons of coal to go back to one particular planet.

The first thing on your list sounds like a good idea (some sort of fuel supply line you can connect to in orbit of your home planet, or some other place). The crafting stuff and all of that...why differentiate between what you can have on your ship and what you can't?

Renewable resources and quests are already planned (regrowable trees are coming within a few updates, extensive quests and such are planned for Beta Stage 3: Bio-organic). The merchant spawns...I disagree with you wholeheartedly. Get back to me on that one after you've found a pirate ship or two.

It'd be nice to have some additional purpose, or benefit, from building houses or setting a home planet; something you can call your home planet for an other reason than "all my stuff is there" or "that's where the most stuff is."

Oh, and for some reason, the sniper rifle I found keeps shooting a tad lower than where I'm actually pointing. I thought this might be the game's version of bullet drop but it happened when I shot right next to myself as well. I don't know if this is intentional, but I can say it was annoying to get used to, and if this isn't intentional then I hope it gets fixed in the near future.

The different sectors are pointless, in my opinion. It would be better if there was just one sector, as when you progress onto a new sector, the previous one is rendered useless, and that's a massive waste of provided content. Threat levels are also meaningless with the multiple sector system.

All of the guns (and the bows, by extension) have this issue. It's most noticeable when shooting to the right (sniper rifles are actually a little better about this than the other guns, for some reason).

Would it be out of line to ask some sort of mod to sticky it and, consequently, make this an official list of issues that the players want looked at?

Oooor would that just draw hate to the thread?

Also, the thread about the uselessness of legendary weapons made me realize "Yeah, they're mostly useless right now"
    Along with the matter manipulator.

Okay, there are minibosses that hit harder than that tier's bosses. And they drop weapons that are weaker than the craftable weapons.

I don't know how to put that on the list.
    Gonna try anyway.

  19. o god this thread again...
you dont even have "strong arguements" for half of your "useless" list and yet you say that every good arguement against them is invalid.

for example why is a planetary base considered "useless" in a SANDBOX GAME? its like saying "oh yeah. building a home in minecraft is useless aswell"

Did you read any of the posts people had about being encouraged to leave the planet, people are just modding their ship if they want a base, and how "fun" and "useful" are not the same?

Also, I'm not arguing for or against anything. I'm going by general consensus of the forum-goers and balance issues.
