Because not everything needs a use outside of screwing around especially in this kinda of game. If we were talking about a solely single player story driven rpg and I ran into items that were fun based yes I would have an issue but that is not what this game is.

Am I wrong to want that in the game? That is up there with the amazon voxel delivery system.

Yes, but it CAN be useful. You're just being unnecessarily argumentative against something that doesn't matter to you.

In some cases, the two mean the same thing.

No. I am pointing out that your definition of useless is arbitrary.

  6. Kashou

    No, you're not.

Let me make it clear. Just because you believe a item dedicated to goofing off is useless does not mean everyone else does.

you two are acting as ridiculous as your avatars. Come on!

On topic, useless is a poor choice of words in a game like this.

My avatar is awesome! You are obviously not a booknerd.

Whoa since when do you have a moustache? It's an awesome moustahce to be sure, but you're not allowed to just magically obtain a moustache like that. Rude.

The "Accuracy" parameter for guns doesn't do anything as of yet, which explains the lack of specialization for said guns - the pistol, machine pistol, assault rifle, and sniper rifle are all the same gun with different rates of fire (which is used to calculate the damage from the base rate - making all four weapons equally as accurate and damaging). If the guns had some inaccuracy that corresponded with weapon type (machine pistols being the least accurate, followed by assault rifles, pistols, than finally sniper rifles), it would give an incentive to use one weapon over another in a given situation, but right now, they're pretty much interchangeable as far as gameplay purposes are concerned.

Unfortunately, this thread is useless. Items and mechanics that don't have much purpose don't have that purpose because the game is still in what's practically a buy-in alpha. They're still working on the bones - the meat isn't even what they need feedback on right now. Once the skeleton is complete, Chucklefish can worry about putting muscles on it to make it move.

Actually planetary bases (hidden) are useful if you want to hide your stuff you don't use but have collected so it isn't stolen from your ship.

He has a point, but in his own way is invalidating his own statement (or validating yours, can't be sure). Because what you are saying is true for you, and not for him, so he has the same lack of right to tell you otherwise. Its a nice little circle really.
Everyone has an opinion. Sharing it online just asks for being told you are wrong. Not saying you shouldn't. Just saying it's easy to be offended. Try not to be.

This thread is up because it's still Beta. It's a list of issues that should be looked at (and some that probably already are) and a log of when they've been fixed.

Drills are completely useless. They dig just a sliiight bit faster than pickaxes, however only in a 2 x 2 area instead of 3 x 3 so it's slower anyway.

And with the new patch up, I'd like to see everyone's issues.
I'm going to say it's still useful for changing bits of your useless house, but I'll put it down as "Drills for mining" because they're useless for what they were intended to be superior for.

I guess, but the mining pick can still do that too. But sure.

There are times when I wanna remove less than the mining pick removes. For small pillars of obsidian in a crystal wall.
