Micro dungeons could be nice, but they are just underground structures. There is not enough mechanical things, that they could use to create some neat traps in those micro dungeons, not to mention big dungeons also could use some love in form of adding cool traps, some small puzzles to open the doors to next area etc, all that is missing and they make dungeons and missions, and cause of that its all boring and most likely they will have to do another run on dungeons to add those things in.Its like they delay it all cause lack of a plan and organization. The work flow seems chaotic as always, I can't see a plan they follow, it seems like: "we did some random stuff today, be happy".
As for the vanity items, they say artist do that in free time, and I want to know why artist have free time? There is so many missing assets and things to work on instead of alpaca costume. If it was organized there wont be a free time to do such stuff.

My Major issue is that they said they would push out an update for this month.. And now I'm hearing things like the addition of sounds, microdungeons to break up mining, and adding marker lists... And it's great hearing all these cool things being added... But I'd prefer it if they stuck with what they had in the unstable and polished those instead based on the user feedback. It was in a good place and would have been perfectly fine with the proper polish... But we keep hearing about new features being tacked on last minute. "It'l come out this mooonth~" How many new features until this month becomes two months from now?

I've tried being patient I've kept my mouth shut about the time but seeing this... It's hard to keep being patient when it keeps pulling the "We want to make it just right" several times you check back and your interest is peaked. Polish what you got rather then add more instabilities to the wagon guys... Just because you have the best intentions doesn't mean you can keep doing this. The current unstable had great content, albiet needed a bit of polish and I've seen some of that polish... But I see so many additives being thrown on to that it makes me worry that this is going to be another broken promise.

We already said how we felt about the game's unstable content and gave our feedback on this. Most of this new content is going to be fairly alien to us and could potentially not be as fleshed out if all that effort was focused on what was currently on the table.

I guess what you are saying is ....You paid for your meal and the Chef is Still cooking it. We have been given some bread and water by the Waiters so we don't starve waiting for the food.

Maybe I wanna get up and leave....get my money back for a meal I never got and am sick of waiting for..... But that can't happen Either.
    So.....what now?

The game is closing in on release now and stable updates are going to be far more common, next one is this month, so you will start getting your hands on all the newest content far more often. And the release should be this year and at this point I think it'll be fine.

I didn't know we already had some stable update this month, and now we will have next one.
    Wake up from your dream.
Game is closing in on release and I will be surprised if it gets above 60 on metacritic cause its shallow and empty in its current state (winter update).

I said stable updates are going to be more common and the next one is this month....what have you been reading?

As for dreaming.....the info is coming directly from CF, about three weeks ago the game was confirmed as still on schedule for a stable release this month and no delays have been announced since plus they are working very hard on all the things they said they would during the holiday AMA. The reason for changing the font was legal, they had no choice but to change the font.

Perhaps what would be better for Us is let us play these games for Free up to a point. Give feedback and Bug reports. Then they can charge money that gets you Access to the damn near finished product. Rather then paying for promises and having faith.

    Or

Let me buy in at X now and charge Y at release. I worked on it too, testing and finding bugs...coming up with new races <wasn't me just saying>. So I should get it cheaper then people who wait for the official release.

Maybe early Early Access is Too early? Somewhere we all have in our heads.....Early Access means not far from Completion. Maybe that comes from the Gold packs where you start 5 days before everyone else. Maybe it needs a new name. Not Early Access but maybe....I don't know... Funding State. We all know there are a lot of games out there you could put into that category. Is that where Starbound is?...Still in that Funding State and this next patch to the Stable branch will pull them out of it and Truly into Early Access?

What they say/post have very little value. It all looks great while you read it, but execution of those things in game is not so good.
They seem to act like politicians before elections - promise after promise, but after won elections none of them gets real.

Well, money is a harsh reality of game development too and ultimately I think that if they did the initial alpha for free as you suggest they may not have had the funds to fix the things that went wrong and they have completely reworked everything from the ground up since the last stable.....which is why to some progress appears to have been so slow or nonexistent.....and those funds are ultimately what will allow this game to be made right and released. Now if you really feel that bad about it then you should understand that early access, alphas, betas and crowd-funding all come with risk and the necessity for patience and faith because these are either projects that you pay for before they exist or that will undergo substantial change before they are finished and it may not be change you like....plus they always require waiting lengthy periods of time. In the future I suggest staying out of any kind of early access or pre-release purchase.[DOUBLEPOST=1421582924][/DOUBLEPOST]
Again, what they are saying and showing is truth....they are not lying to you. If you don't like the implementation then I'm sorry but there is not much to do other than wait to see if they make further changes that suit you, wait and hope mods will fix it, make a mod, or simply move on and next time stay out of early access projects. It sounds harsh but this is the reality of it. I've been around crowd-funding for a few years and there are projects I invested in that I wish I hadn't but it was a risk I was aware of from the start and I moved on.

No I don't like the implementation and won't like it cause its simply bad, and seems like they are going on the path of smallest resistance.
The famous bug catching looks so horrible, swinging the bug net is the same as swinging any other 2 - handed sword/hammer, bug net looks horrible, and has horrible animation, its damn cheap looking, and on the top it magically produces a jar and places bug in it for you - its so lame. On the other hand to make damn coffee you need coffee beans, water, mug and a spoon. Game lacks content there is not enough dungeons variations, why not supply people with more tools to build dungeons, like traps, and other mechanical, sci-fi stuff and let people build dungeons for them and just integrate them from screenshots/save files posted over the forums into the game?
For a year now I don't feel like I'm in Early Access beta game, development is closed in nightly builds and most of the feedback is ignored, if there is any, cause many people got tired of the way they are working and left. Only way it could be fixed is developers to start working with community in here and on steam, taking feedback and changing the game with regular monthly (or more frequent) updates. The nightly builds while allow you to see they are still working, don't provide any real test play possibility.

Really? Dungeon variation is your complaint just a few days after they announced 100? As for certain animations and bug catching.....I don't see that many people complaining about them.....I don't see that many people complaining about any one issue actually.

But this is the big drama you're upset over? Seems a bit ridiculous to me.....it is a game from a very small team of developers.....some things are not going to be perfect, some animations are going to be recycled(swing of bug net seems just fine to me btw) and so on. I mean, what did you think you were buying into? EA's well polished, nearly finished, beta for their next 4 hour corridor running and shooting with explosions AAA project or something?

They consider all feedback but that doesn't mean they are going to jump at every complaint. This is one of the the worst I've seen, right next to omg the whiskey bottle is gone.

That my fried is just a tip of the iceberg. I could write about what is wrong with this game for hours and you will still not understand a thing.
It all depends highly on customers age, sure all that 5 - 10 years old kids are happy with the game, its easy to make them happy, but they are many other and older people who want the game to be good. I don't have much hope left when ship A.I. welcomes me for the first time with: "HORSE BOOBS".

You can flatter yourself with beliefs that anyone who disagrees with you is a child but your assessment would be extremely incorrect. Children are the ones that are far too sensitive to small things and it takes very little to get them crying while adults are the ones who generally understand things enough to not make an issue when their favorite toy isn't an item in the game or an animation isn't completely perfect. If age arguments are what you're left with it's best you let this go.

It is a fine game. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it took Notch 2 years to move from pre-something (2009) to the release version of Minecraft (2011 and 2012). To me it's okay for as long Starbound is somehow polished and fun, and less buggy than the "release" versions of StarForge or Assassin's Creed Unity ;)

I don't need to, I can clearly see it with current winter update, all systems oversimplified and boring, its all gets shallow and boring, other non child friendly elements got reduced etc , they are moving in a direction that will make this all mainly for kids. You don't even disagree with me, you don't provide any valid arguments, and talking with you is the same as talking to a wall.

No valid arguments? You were complaining about dungeon variation I pointed out the fact they just announced 100 are ready to dropped in the game. Survival systems will return....this is a fact as announced by CF(and they are being reworked specifically because they were meaningless and shallow to start with), directly addressing your point. Some nondescript content is boring? Poor bug net animation? Those are your opinions, I don't see many complaining about those....it's like saying you don't like mint ice cream or something....that's your preference, nothing anyone can do about that....too bad, so sad.

They didn't add 100 dungeons, they added 100 boring and pointless micro dungeons, without any new mechanic in them, no traps, nothing. Now you will just find some structures underground, its cosmetics, without any substance. You like bug net animation? I'm so sorry for your lack of taste.
