Item Recovery on Multiservers?

I noticed that if someone takes your items in multiplayer, you can obtain them. As far as I know.

Thus meaning, a "friend" can just raid your ship, taking the vital resources you need for "that weapon" or that boss.

Can't there be a way to lock your items from being took, and also only allowing "so and so" to take from my ship as he is a close friend, and not "so and so" because he is a pirate troll?

Seriously worried, as I can't really play with many friends as I have the thought in the back of my head they can take my items and run.

If there is a way, may someone tell me how to get a item recovery just in case?

    Thanks!

There's a pretty easy method. Don't invite them to your party, and they can't beam to your ship. Furthermore, these people probably aren't remotely friends if they make you fear losing your items. Perhaps good insurance against this sort of thing is to make certain the people you are playing with are actually trustworthy and actually friends? That said, I do feel that some method of locking chests needs to be addressed for the situations of having chests in a ground base that any player can access.

There's another method: just back up your player-files, they are stored client-side.

Then, if shit happens, you just put your files back.

Your player files are in the "player" folder in the starbound root folder, which is usually at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound or similar if you are on Windows (you can get to it via steam as well).

If you can't figure which player files are from your current character, then just copy the entire "players" folder to a safe spot, and put it back when you get robbed.
