Visor with this item can identify creatures and items that you have already discovered. it will show enemies in red and friends in green, you also have a small window showing weaknesses (for creatures) and uses the for the block. it also provides a bit of night vision. Tell me what you think SupaTigaPoo
That would really cool! or one so you could spot enemies (they'd glow even if underground or behind something) I really hope theres health bars without a visor but still a good idea also maybe so with a gun you can target the weak points (lock on)
I had that in terraria suggetion b4 until I heard that they terminated terriara's forward updates. , so I just turns out "I am stuck with tea party with trolls and drinking this crap".
Not bad... Having an item that pops up a small info window maybe on mouse hover would be interesting.
I actually do hope that normally there are no health bars for enemies visible normally and such feature of some sort scanner visor would be a really nifty. Maybe with some additional icon or with frame of different color to differentiate between friendlies and enemies (No point in adding some fancy glowing and whatnot which won't look nice if there are many mobs and which may actually make it harder to spot details). As for the possible weaknesses/resistances of enemies, we're yet to be sure there will be any and even if - dscriptions, possible use and whatnot I'd rather have a part of regular log thing which is already implemented.
There should be different kinds of visors, the ones that offer bonuses like night and heat vision or enemy stats should be more advanced and harder to obtain/research but also simple ones just for aesthetics on an armor.
I mentioned visors to some other people, and I think it has already been suggested before, but I'd really like to see a visor/scope that allows you to detect specific ores underground, like an X-Ray that you can point in a specific direction and reveal certain things within that area. It would even be nice to detect open spaces undergound so you can more easily find caves, if the ore function is too powerful. Either way, this function would have to cost a lot of energy and have other limitations so that you can't just sweep it in all directions and find everything all around you. The idea is that you have to have a general idea of where you are looking.
It would be quite cool, if without any visor there would be almost no HUD at all (only the inventory screen to equip items and visors) So to get health/energy/oxygen indicator you need to wear at least basic visor/goggles/helmet More advanced version could provide additional information about environment and other creatures (and players) Few things that could be provided via various visors minimap bufs/debufs received/dealt damage goal markers (player placed map points, your spaceship and location of other players on your team) creature health/energy bar height/depth/speed gravity/pressure/temperature weakness indicator (also suggests the best of your weapons against such creature) danger alarm (helps to block/parry on time, also helps to avoid grenades and various slow moving projectiles) names and approximate value of resources nightvision (also makes water more clear) thermal vision (good to spot various invisible creatures) etc. visors are really cool things to experiment with
Requiring equipment for HUD elements like health and energy forces said equipment onto a player, and I doubt that the devs would implement something like that.
the only thing i want is a power radar, like the one in Dragon Ball Z, but maybe a full visor like helmet it will be nice, you could activate it by pressing a button on keyboard, do some animation since is starting the system and then show the information about the enemy, like health and that kind of thing... but i think this is already implemented in the game, it is not?? look in the old images were you can use a ray were you see the information about everything...
It would be really cool if the visor would display enemy health and damage dealt/received as well as crit spots. Its always a little confusing to put shots into different spots of a creature to find the soft spot.
The problem is we don't know if there will be critical spots on monsters, including headshots, because this game is 2D and doing a system like that is harder to implement with 2D sprites than it is with 3D models, then again for all I know they finished that a long time ago.
Certain body parts could be flagged as critspots (the bulb on the onion cow). I would be happy if the visor just displayed damage numbers and health bars.
What I mean is the player is essentially an image that just changes in different frames, as are other entities, it's not a 3D model composed of several different parts it's one thing and it would be difficult to code something like critical points on one object as opposed to critical points on an entity made of several small objects, doesn't mean it's not in the game or not possible though.
