There's a problem with the item despawning: it happens way too quickly. Items only stay on screen for a minute at maximum, causing you to lose valuable materials if you don't rush to get it, which sometimes isn't possible. While fighting monsters one time, I managed to drop both my starting sword and my hunting bow in the heat of the moment, and they both despawned. The only way to get new weapons is to craft them with pixels. The only way to get pixels is by killing monsters. The only weapon I had was the hunting bow. Monsters don't drop pixels when killed by the hunting bow. Because of this, I was stuck with a crappy weapon until one of my friends gave me his starting sword. Also, I think that the single-block mining you do by holding shift with tools should be slightly faster than normal. Actually, the mining speed in general should be increased. The thought that stuck out most in my mind as I played the game was how agonizingly long it took to gather resources. And while we're on the topic, the matter manipulator needs better visual and audio effects. This is supposed to be a futuristic device, I want to see arcs of energy between the thing and the blocks it mines, and a satisfying space-age hum sound, not a rip-off of the gravity gun beam and the sound of "tik tik tik tik tik tik tik" ad infinitum.
Mining speed got patched this night, but i agree with tempo buff on shift mining and sound effects and visuals for the matter manupilator!
