Why they sold "beta" like this? For example. In free (FREE) dota 2 beta was 2 "beta's", and before valve set patch on main game, they test it on secondary. It's so hard do that, WHEN YOU HAVE FUCKING MONEY from solded "invites"?
Oh yeah. Second variant can be used by developers, who love to have money from nothing, like cf or de. it so profitably develope games on permanent "Early Access beta" stage
Are you high? Or you were buying this game when you were high? Can't you read? YOU bought this game at this state. What are you complaining about? That you get high too often? You bought it, accept it. Or shut up.
ok so i've backup the fully folder , i'm in Angry koala (solo) atm , i'll move all my chest on a planet and make update only after , will say if its work here.
I blame Steam somewhat as it's auto-updates magnified the issue. I (and I expect a lot of people) would backed up my players/worlds/installation if I'd been warned about the update before running the game and given an option (eg. message on startup saying "New version available, do you want to update?"). Yes, it can make support a little trickier as you need to make sure what version a player is running but at least it gives players a choice. Or perhaps detecting that the player/universe folders are from an older version and creating an auto-backup before loading a save game? Personally I'd like the choice to choose what version of the game I run (I love Steam but this issue has often bugged me).
You can turn off auto-updates. People needs to stop being so incredibly dumb and start reading. Devs cannot hold the buyers hand 24/7.
I _have_ turned off auto-updates - Steam still updates the game when you run it. This is not about hand-holding, nor about the devs at all but rather an issue of player choice (ie. Steam taking away the choice to stay on a previous version until you choose to update).
May be you put your tongue back to cf's asses? Or start writing something new? Because i see post like "You in the beta, just shut up" a third time.
If it really forces you to update even though you turned it off then I'm sorry. A solution would be to copy starbound folder to another location as a backup before an update. Hes right though.
