YEAH, WE GOT A FEEEEEEEX! Anyways, I have a theory as to the nature of the lag. Someone once mentioned a bug: that any object that has a script runs a script check periodically, even when it really shouldn't. Perhaps this engine update to "everything is interactable" is causing EVERY object to do this, thus causing extensive processing of unnecessary shit? My most laggy area is the one filled with Tesla Spikes (1x1 objects).
The old Angry Koala had an issue that, sometimes when it failed the loding of a planet, the game created a new one renaming the last to the same file .fail This time was in our server while we're playing. It hapened but didn't reseted the planet. Instead, I think he restarted the server...dunno, cause players had disconnected. I was checking on Universe folder and there were 5 .fail files from 5 planets. Some they reseted, others don't...
ALL THE THINGS!!!!1!That would make some sense. My planet gets laggy specifically around my warehouse. It's not the biggest warehouse I've seen someone build, but it has a vast array of unique piles of entities in all those containers, so if each stack is calling to a check script function, it would do what it's doing. I was having lag before, but, yes, it specifically increased after the interactability enabled by the Enraged update
Assuming your stuff is in the recycling bin, get out of Starbound (including the Launcher), go to your Steam directory of Starbound (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Starbound) and temporarily rename Starbound to something else (StarboundNEW), then restore your original deleted folder "Starbound" from your recycling bin. This older folder should still have your previously acquired mods, and more importantly, the universe folder. Mind you, it may not matter to you, as I'm just suggesting this, because when I had to delete my content, my save file wouldn't boot up without the universe folder for some reason. In any case, could still be nice if you want your old universe. Anyways, if you follow through with this, you can then redelete the folder, then rerename your altered Starbound folder back to Starbound.
Thank you for the info! I'm quite set on this new start, now that I've gotten used to it, but a couple friends of mine might have the same problem I had, and I know they'd love to have their universe again!
*CHUKLES* Well, I didn't notice the random disappearance of chest and stuff until a while ago, but thankfully it stopped (so far) Still, I'll start with a fresh ship and universe LOL
How can I fix this?: Warn: I/O error in to 217.55.126.64:21343 NetSocket write loop or device closed: NetworkException: tcp send error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. 0074659B (/Users/builder/starbound-slave/releasebuilder-windows/build/source/core/StarException.hpp:84) 0075402C (/Users/builder/starbound-slave/releasebuilder-windows/build/source/core/StarIODevice.cpp:139) 00438C19 (/Users/builder/starbound-slave/releasebuilder-windows/build/source/game/StarNetSocket.cpp:256) 0088D27C (/Users/builder/starbound-slave/releasebuilder-windows/build/source/core/StarThread_windows.cpp:74) 7590336A kernel32.dll 776F9F72 ntdll.dll 776F9F45 ntdll.dll Thank You.
Would you crawl out of their collective rectum for like three days? These were really shabby updates. The "alpha beta" excuse is wearing thin as we get changelogs composed of "we might have added some stuff I don't know if it's in there" - you can't test 'might exist'. It plays like a alpha beta, but they don't treat their player base like testers in any real way. "Holding our hand"? They're on their way, slowly but surely, to something more like "take the money and run". I don't know what they did to buy this kind of blind loyalty out of you, but it's wearing thin.
No. I wrote what I wrote because I thought Steam didn't force you to update when you had turned off auto-updates. What makes you think they even had to buy my "loyalty"? I post what I want with my own free will.
