Is your reallife SO anything like your in-game spouse, or not?

It's a stupid question, I know, comparing a 2D in-game character to a genuine human being who has lived a full life with all the multitude of personal decisions and feelings that entails. But some people do gravitate towards NPCs who at least superficially resemble in some ways their reallife significant others, while other players go for NPCs who are very different. Which holds true for you? And why?

 

The game doesn't have an archetype which even remotely fits my spouse. So I don't suppose it really applies.

 

Well, not spouse, but boyfriend, yes. They're somewhat similar. Computer guy who hates going out.

 

Not really no. My wife is a kind and loving soul but cooking is not in her skillset. I took over all the cooking duties out of self-defense.

 

Can't really say so, my irl guy is good with computers and he's a music producer/DJ, so somewhere in the realm of Seb (thinking of the synth, my guy makes electronic music) but not quite the same.

 

Yes, actually. My real-life spouse is similar to Elliott in both appearance and artistic temperament (though he doesn't use so much flowery language). They even both play the keyboard; I was bummed that Elliott didn't bring his to our home!

 

I am currently in the process of getting Abigail and she is a lot like my fiance, not quite married yet. I still remember that first 2 star event with her.

 

Currently single, but Sebastian reminds me a lot of a couple of my exes: big into computers, wanting to be programmers or studying to be one, hate going outside, play D&D (one had a weekly group for that and MTG), were considered emo. Sebastian was the only bachelor I'd go to before my last ex, who kind of broke the chain of "Sebastians."

Two of my closest friends are a lot like Shane after his 6-heart event. I married him in my most recent game and actually really enjoyed it, just like being married to a guy I jokingly propose to at least once a week (we got married in an MMO for ingame goodies and I've joked about that stuff between us ever since).

 

I think I am choosing different people, because in game I like girls more. In real life I have a boyfriend. But I am also interested in Harvey who is really my type, I like inteligent and calm guys like he is. I only hate his mustaches :0 But love glasses. So it's like I want something different but also I am attracted to things similar in my real life.

 

Hm, I am in love with someone IRL who reminds me of the person I want to marry in-game, but both of them are unavailable. Does that count for anything?

Since I don't have a spouse irl... I'd be pretty jazzed if they were anything like Maru.

 

I know too many people that are like the characters here. This is why I never married.

 

(Cover your ears kids... I mean your eyes.) To be frank, my hand doesn't really talk to me as much as my in game spouse does. Should I be worried?

 

No. If your hand starts criticizing your choice of dress when you take it anywhere, then I'd suggest getting a new hand.

Though you might want to consider dating outside the school of human appendages. Just saying.

Shane is a lot like my boyfriend. Except my boyfriend is confident and his depression isn't very bad. His anxiety is worse though.

 

My ex was a bit like Sebastian. He is also a programer, he likes to play video games and DSA (german kind of DnD). Oh and his name was Sebastian. Lol
My current boyfriend isn't specifically like one of the NPC.

 

No, not really. There is no one as awesome as my irl husband. If the marriage candidates in game were real people I would not marry any of them, honestly. But that's the point of a game: to pretend to be someone different for a while!

 

My first in-game spouse was Elliot and he's nothing like my real-life husband at all. I married Elliot because he resembles myself. I want to be an author and like to play piano/keyboard. I just don't talk all poetically.
The closest bachelor to my husband is Alex in that they both played football in high school. Other than that, none of the marriage candidates resemble my real-life SO.
