Is this just a money grab?

Idk if this will get deleted by a mod or not but I'm just gunna throw this idea out there. They screwed the pooch on this last update, Totally f'ed over the armor and weapons system as well as planet difficulty. They aren't listening to any suggestions players are putting on forums other than for money storage. For those who don't know, this game is made by one of the guys who did terraria, that being said when Terarria went up on steam they announced the week after that they would stop development on it for T2. Then this game comes out a month after that, I think this is just a money grab to fund T2 after all the devs of Starbound have already made over 3m$ in sales. Just my thoughts but it seems like very little time or effort is being put into this game.

Plenty of people have gotten their moneys worth out of the game already even if it was a money grab, which it isn't.

If it was a money grab it would be far more buggy and there would be way less content.

The Devs have listened to so many suggestions, they cannot implement them all at once and this game has been in development for around two to three years.

 

I have played over 30 hours of this game and it's still stage 1 in beta. Soooooo to each his own I guess.

 

The developer who worked on Terraria was the Artist, not the person in charge with how the development will take place, so that point is moot.

And if there's a problem with the armour and weapons being "F'ed up" then report it, post a constructive bit of criticism about the issue and suggest ways they can fix it so posting things like this doesn't help the development process one bit.

They warned months in advance that the beta will be full of bugs and problems in Stage 1, everything you've said in your post here is based on an assumption (and a bad one at that).

You should take a look at Reddit or even the tweets the devs post, hell even watching Bartwe's livestreams on the development process shows how much work they're putting into this game, if you're not happy with what you see now stop playing and wait for it to be officially released.

They revamped combat mechanics. They haven't finished tuning those mechanics.

Mechanics. Then tuning.

This is also not the company or the team that makes Terraria or Terraria 2. Only 1 of the staff worked on Terraria, and he only did some pixel work as I understand it.

The game is also being updated (as this is a beta) by a very small team -- and their efforts have been tremendous so far.

 

I think that makes a lot of sense, and you are pretty right about a lot of the stuff that you've said here.

Such as stupid post that I dont even know why Im replying. Thats what a beta is all about. Changing things around to see what works and what doesnt. They had a system that didnt work well and people complained. They revamped the system and it's better now but still not perfect, it needs balancing. And it will be balanced continuously for the whole duration of the beta.

What you are saying would be ok if this was a finished release, but it's not. Beta is for testing and it's exactly what they and us are doing.

Besides that, all the stuff about Terraria 2 just makes me think your whole post is a troll. It's ridiculous

Let Them finish waht they started, then if you have suggestion post them in proper section, they are not for show, they watch those sections.

Primary things first, then suggestions.

 

I disagree, I think balance is a lot harder than people think and they have to revision it dozens of times to get it right.

See, there are times when an opinion isn't just an opinion. When you accuse the developers of being thieves trying to steal your money, that's not an opinion that should be respected.

Am I the only one who caught that this guy just claimed that Terraria went up some Steam recently, and a week after it released, they are saying they stopped working on Terreria for Terraria 2? Anyone else catch that? Am I misreading, or does this guy actually think Terraria came out very recently?

 

A real money grab would be "Aliens: Colonial Marines".

This game is just a buggy mess which you were warned about completely before hand, IE: Early Access.
